Well, if you count hearing music that's not playing and seeing lava creep down your walls in the dark, I guess you could say I've experienced psychosis. I also get paranoid and think everybody's spying on me or trying to follow me home when I'm driving. This only happens with manic episodes and doesn't always happen even then.

real psychosis once or twice a year tops, usually only when im at the point where i need inpatient care and only since 2011 - before that i could count the times i hallucinated on 1 hand.
i do get paranoid a bit more, but its really just a problem the couple times a year.

i also have what i call disaster brain... which is like paranoia...
hubby is 20 minutes late or doesnt answer a call and i KNOW hes dead. i start full mourning and hysterics. then he comes home and i am ok again.
same with the kids. im always afraid theyve been hurt or run away or something.
its not just family stuff but the whole worst case scenerio thing is pretty much a constant with me

My paranoia is a fairly new realization for me....like less than a month. While the realization is fairly new...I still wonder how long I've had paranoid thinking. Paranoia paralyzes me sometimes..especially when in a manic or depressed.

It's never really a lack of motivation...though that was the only way to explain it at the time. It was more like I was paralyzed and couldn't move or do what was needed. Kinda like I now when I'm paranoid.

This is all new and scary stuff to me. Still trying to wrap my mind around the idea.

I have not had a psychotic episode in 10 years. I'm pretty stable when I take my meds. But I used to hear things that weren't there and feel things crawling under my skin. I still suffer a little paranoia but nothing like I did before I was diagnosed Bipolar 1. Hope this helps

When I'm manic, I suffer paranoia, hallucinations, and hear things.

I've been stable for a bit now and seldom have this issue as long as I stay on my meds.

I've recently went hypomanic for a few days, but only experienced paranoia. Luckily, it wasn't to bad!

I deal with Pyschosis very often (monthly if not weekly).. The majority of it is mild enough for me to be able to recognize it for what it is... It doesnt really disrupt my life I refuse to allow it to altho its rather annoying at times .. I choose not to treat it with APs'.. I refuse to be a zombie .

I do loads of self grounding and I know when I am reaching a point where I need additional help . lucky for me that hasnt happened in over 6 months now.

I just recently accepted the fact that I suffer from severe paranoia rather frequently. 15 years ago my friend told me I was the most paranoid person he ever met, my response........paranoia that he was never really my friend and had only been spying on me for my ex-boyfriend( he hated him more than me and was instrumental in my leaving the very toxic relationship!) My husband told me he thought my irrational paranoia was affecting my work relationships @ my last job and something finally clicked. It was like a fast forward movie of the last 30 years of my life highlighting ridiculous episodes of paranoia. My newfound realization makes it easier to put on the brakes before attacking innocent people.........sometimes!

I suffer the hallucinations and paranoia a few times every month. I also hear things and that doesn't help either. I'm on a high dose of Latuda to help with it though.
Thanks for this!

Before I started on Latuda I heard and saw things DAILY. Every day a weird shadow man would follow me that nobody else could see. He would whisper to me all the time and follow me from place to place, especially at school when I was trying to concentrate. I always thought people could hear my thoughts or that people were trying to implant thoughts in my head. Now that I'm on Latuda, these things only happen once a week or every other week. Though I do still have the paranoia. A few weeks ago I dug into my skin on my legs and left little holes all over my legs because I thought I had transmitters in them and someone was spying on me. Now I have scars all over my legs from it. :[ But I am much better off with the medication.

Whenever I'm on the 2nd story it sounds like people are breaking in on the firsr floor. My solution live in apt. that have everything on one floor. Tactile helusinations are quite common for me. My visual and autio helusinations i can easily ignore but the delutions and parinioa get me. Luckly they only happen in high stress times. That's the only time I'd say I may be psycotic but I wouldn't even go that far.

So what I consider psycotic and dangerous maybe 2x a year. If you ask my therapist probably weekly if not more. I think psycosis is thrown around to easily.

Mine just shows up under extreme duress, usually right before a hospitalization. I have been hearing the occasional voice lately, though. My pdoc put me on perphenazine, but I decided not to keep taking it. I'm already on enough meds.
