So I'm not so irritable, but I'm not sleeping well...again. I'm taking so many sedating meds. Trazadone 250 mgs, depakote 500 mgs, triliptel 900 mgs, hydroxyzine 100 mgs, zyprexa 5 mgs, lorazepam 2 mgs.
That's all I can think of. I struggle with sleep so badly. I fall asleep fine. But then constantly wake up. I am having a sleep study done bc they think I have sleep apnea. That may be what it is. But I was sleeping really well there for awhile...Idk. I'm gonna call my pdoc today... |

Sorry to hear you're not sleeping well. If I don't take my Xanax, which I can't the night before and ECT, my sleep is horrible. I know how awful it is not to sleep and I feel for you.

I know what you are going thru. I literally freak out if I'm not sleeping well because I am so scared of the worst happening. I've been I think on everything you have been and unfortunately the only pill that works for me is 400mg of Seroquel, and sometimes that doesn't even work. I have trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep, my mind never shuts up. The past few nights on top of my seroquel, Xanax, and Propranolol I had to pop 3 benadryls. I had a sleep study and nothing is wrong. I hope you find relief soon.

If your not having trouble falling asleep, just add seroqel to your mix that will help you stay asleep. I had trouble falling and staying asleep. So I took ambien to fall asleep and seroquel to stay asleep. It helped a lot instead of walking up 4-5 times a nite, I only wake up about 2 times now.

I'm wide awake, only slept about 2 hours. I took 10 mgs of zyprexa. Instead of 5. I just took more hydroxyzine, hoping I can get back to sleep.
I just get very scared when I can't sleep. I've went into a really bad psychosis before from not sleeping. And quite a few mixed episodes. Still haven't heard back from pdoc... |

I think you maybe do have sleep apnea, i went for the overnight test years ago and they found out i had almost no REM sleep. I sleep with a machine now, a usually do pretty great with it, sleep at least 8 hours a night now, except when every once in awhile i'll sleep in the day instead of night. I think thats because my sleep is so good i don't want to wake up!! REM helps us dream and heals our bodies. Good luck

I'm weaning off depakote right now and switching to triliptel bc my hair was falling out really bad from the depakote... And I am feeling kinda hypo. I'm over thinking this whole thing I think. |

I have exactly the same sleep problem. A sleep study confirmed sleep apnea, but the CPAP machine didn't help me sleep. No medication that I've been on has helped. I'm starting to realize I will be sleep deprived the rest of my life.

Tapering off of medications can instigate insomnia and sleep disturbances. If it is caused by withdrawal then a short-term sleep aid might help until your body adjusts, which could take four to eight weeks since discontinuation. I find time release melatonin with l-theanine helpful in going to and staying asleep. Aside from medication I found meditation helpful in going back to sleep; basic breathing exercises. I think the best thing you can do immediately though is to not worry about getting sleep throughout the night. Just stay in bed, meditate, let your mind wander anywhere that isn't worrisome as stressing out is counterproductive.

So just talked to pdoc. He said increase triliptel. He thinks I'm in a mania. He doesn't believe in mixed episodes, or thinks they're very infrequent. He says don't take more hydroxyzine when I wake up, but I can take more zyprexa. Which sucks bc I'm gaining back the weight I lost from risperdal. He had to go didn't give me much time. I just feel like crying.

I sleep heavy from my medications. The next morning I still feel drowsy and driving is very complicated.
