What's the best way to get onto a normal schedule? I've been tending to stay up until 1 am every night and waking up around 11:30 or 12 PM. Then there's also nights where i don't sleep when I take too many stimulants. I would like to be able to get up earlier in the day so I can actually eat breakfast and take my meds at a normal hour. I haven't been taking them until 12:30 or 1 PM and sometimes that makes me shaky. Is the answer to go to bed at 9 PM since i can't seem to sleep less than 11-12 hrs after taking my saphris? When I set alarms to wake up before when I naturally wake up I get shaky for some reason, not quite sure why. btw when i do take my saphris I pass out in 5-30 mins after I take it, so going to sleep isn't the problem.
What really sucks about going to sleep early is that the NBA playoffs are going on now and I like to watch the Warriors play. They usually come on at 10:30 PM my time and end at 1 AM. Guess I'll just have to miss the games. |

I've always had a problem with "normal". Just because 95% of people do X doesn't mean it's "normal" for me. Maybe you just have an odd circadian rhythm and that's why you feel shaky when you try to awaken earlier.
If you don't work set hours why not listen to your body? It should naturally tell you what it wants. Like for me I have a weird rhythm. I am happiest with no schedule where I can nap 3-7 hours then be up 2-8 then nap again. My GERD, depression, anxiety everything lessens about 90% when I can get on my natural schedule but alas I work set hours ![]() Good luck to you ![]()

What works for me is commitment to keeping a regular schedule. Personally, I take my night cocktail at 9pm every night. All electronics are no longer used after this time. They can be distracting and will keep you awake longer and disrupt your sleep. I have an app on my phone that reminds me what meds to take and when so that is also kept on a regular schedule. During the week, I'm forced to keep a regular schedule just because of work, but I make myself keep the same schedule even over the weekend do and holidays to not throw myself off.
It really makes a difference for my mood and energy when this is all in sync. When I stay awake later or stay on my phone and/or tablet longer at night, I'm exhausted the next day. |

I too take saphris at night but I wake up throughout the night. And when I was taking stimulants I'd stay up till 5am when my bf gets home from third shift. I have no job or kids so sleeping in isnt a big deal. I would suggest you lower your dose of saphris if you're sleeping that long though. Set alarms if you need to remind you to wake up, take meds, or eat. Even though I sleep in, I'll usually move around and wake up for a moment around 8am so I'll take my meds. I leave my pill out on my nightstand to remind me.

I have found that I feel much better if I stick to a regular schedule, especially now that I'm working again. I take my night meds at around 8:30 or 9 and am asleep by 10 or 11 and wake up at 6:30 every morning even though I don't have to leave for work until 10am. It takes me awhile to wake up fully every morning because of the meds. When I wasn't working I had no schedule and found I wasn't feeling as well. Maybe you can take your saphris at 10pm and still be up by 9am. I don't take saphris, but my night meds put me to sleep pretty quickly most nights. Being on that regular routine of sleep has really helped. I'm rested and have more energy everyday. I also feel more stable. Good luck figuring out what works for you.
