Once a month but I'm stable so that's enough

Ever see the T more than once a week?

Yep, twice a week whenever I'm particularly unstable.

How long have you been with the same therapist? 10 years for me!

Can't sleep without the night meds so I don't miss those but the am meds, yes, maybe once a week on average...im just not a morning person and don't fully turn the grey matter on before noon.

Do you ever on purpose skip meds?

Yes, only instances where I had too much to drink and was afraid of the mixture causing me harm. That's rare.

If you could choose one symptom of Bipolar to no longer affect you, which one would it be?

I am absolutely still in love with my husband of five years. We met when he was detoxing from alcoholism and I was suicidal. We feel that it was a true miracle that we met. He is the one for me. I hear many women talking about how their husbands don't understand their depression and tell them to snap out of it. My husband isn't like that at all. He tells me all the time that he just wants me to be happy. He doesn't care at all about the house or if dinner is ready or if I'm able to watch my son (rather than having him in daycare). He just wants me to be happy. He is completely supportive. He is in school to get a good-paying job and is planning on my healthcare bills.

I'm lucky - he knew I had mental illness when we got married, and he knew what he was signing up for. He loves me. I love him. It's still hard. His PhD program has been killer. We've had less time together this year than we ever have. That has been really hard for me because he has always been my biggest support, but I've learned to rely more on my mom, sister, therapist, and friends, not just my husband.

Someone just asked this but I'm curious to know the same thing. How often do you meet with your therapist? Have you ever met more than once a week?

I dislike all of my meds as I hate being on so many but the two meds that give me issues are Lithium and Clonazepam. The Lithium messes with my thyroid, makes me really thirsty gives me mild tremors. The Clonazepam gives me bad withdrawals so I can't just stop it. Right now I am on a tapering plan and it is painful.

Do you play an instrument?

Question: How long have you been stable for? What's the longest you have been episode free?

I wish. The nearest are 75 minutes away and I can't afford the gas.

Do you carry a supply of meds with you "in case"?

Have you ever met someone and thought "they are too crazy to be around"?

Yes! My sister-in-law!

Question: Do you have friends in person with bipolar who you look up to regarding bipolar? Maybe they've had bipolar a few decades longer and are managing? Or some other reason

Do you have unresolved issue with somebody in your past that you would like to resolve? How would you go about it?

I see a family therapist with my husband and children. I plan to get my own T soon.

Best advise you've ever been given?
