I find that if I drink too much then that interferes with my sleeping.
I usually sleep with .5mg of klonipin which I took at 1130 but took an extra 1mg just now to see if that will help me. have been online too which is stimulating....
sigh

doing the same. staring at the screen. wondering how people get to sleep. Have taken two of my sleeping pills tonight and still no success. Did not eat or drink anything to keep me up. Just my ADHD keeping me so alert. And I know I should shut off the computer, but I can't seem to do it...

When I can't sleep I have Lunesta or klonopin to help me out... I also get away from the computer and tablet and phone, and turn off the lights (all of them) to give less to my mind to grasp.

The glare from your phone or computer can disrupt your ability to sleep. Usually I toss and turn and eventually fall off, but if it is bad I will get up and read, or listen to one of those meditation oasis podcasts. Chamomile tea is good too, and Benadryl or a benzo if you have it. But yeah, I think being online is too stimulating.

I am like you at times not being able to sleep (a lot lately).

I have a toolbox. Sometimes nothing works but in the past I've tried the following:
Meds - Lunesta, Tylenol PM, Valium....I don't drink but if you drink enough you'll pass out.

Physical/Mental - hypnosis, meditation, music, (lots on youtube), rubbing your eyebrows for 2 minutes, orgasm, warm milk,

Electronics such as your phone or tablet will make it difficult to fall asleep because of the light they admit, so I try and stay away from them before I know I'm about to go to bed. At least that's my issue. Alcohol can help with falling asleep, but having a deep and restful sleep...it messes that up. Taking my meds at the same time every night and actually being in the bed has trained me to be able to fall asleep faster. This is just what I've learned over the years. I hope you are able to solve your sleep issues. Good luck!

Sometimes I take 2 Ativan. Most of the time, I ride it out, try not to stress about it, and tell myself I will sleep when ready. If it goes on for longer than 3 days, I will write my doctor for a probable med adjustment or something. I find that when I stress about not sleeping, it only makes things worse. Taking a bath, staying in dim lit settings and avoiding electronics helps. Some herbal tea if you like it. Give yourself a rub down with some lotion. Ask someone for a massage if you have someone around. Soft music if you like music. Good luck.

My methods that may help next time:

1) Ativan
2) Counting (forwards, with no pace - 1...2..3.4..5..6.7.8... eventually I fall asleep because its a thoughtless action).
3) Sleepytime Extra Tea
4) BBW Sleep bodywash/warm shower
5) Decide to just stay awake lol

[ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and it refers to a phenomenon which is very difficult to explain to those that do not experience it. It is usually experienced through a relaxing tingling in the scalp and the back of the neck and can extend into the rest of the body. It is a very calming sensation that washes over you.]

very interesting...anyone hear of this before?
