I'm used to certain kinds of auditory/visual hallucinations but this was different. It was red, scary, and evil looking. I sometimes can't tell what's real or not. But this...I knew it wasn't real but I was terrified. It just wouldn't go away. I think it was making sounds? Or maybe that was just me hearing something else? It happened when I got up in the middle of the night so it was hard to get back to sleep...I slept with the lights on after that.

Well, hopefully your appt with pdoc is early again. Just be clear with pdoc about the frequency of and the affect the hallucinations are having on you and That there definitely needs to be an attempt at resolution.

Appt is early tomorrow. I wrote everything down so it should be clear and to the point. I'm hoping the med change this time is for the hallucinations. They're getting harder to handle. Also hoping the med work fast ... I can dream lol

You see your doctor tomorrow right? I do too.....I may start an IOP program but I have several groups set up during the week and that might be enough for now. We'll see what the doctor says....I'm having flashbacks of past trauma from this election and just want to scream!

Yeah I see him tomorrow thank goodness. What's an IOP program? I don't go to any groups myself.

I'm sorry about your trauma and wish you luck tomorrow!

IOP stands for Intensive Outpatient. You go during the day but get to go home and sleep in your own bed at time. It's a step down from being hospitalized. If you had transportation it would be a good option for you but with your transportation difficulties, the hospital is a better option for you if you need something more than monthly check ins.

Oh I see! I might actually have transportation soon! My sister has been stable so my parents are most likely going to let her get her license. It's exciting. I just wish I could get mine. We'll see about the hospital tomorrow. I'm not sure if I need it, but my doc may think differently.

Hallucinations are so disorienting and frightening. How do you ground yourself to reality? I find the five senses technique helpful. Describe five things that are real that you can see, then five you can touch, then five you can smell, then five you can hear. It can be very difficult if the hallucinations are really bad.

Hang in there. So glad you are seeing your doctor tomorrow.

They are :/ I haven't found a grounding technique that works for me. I've tried a few but it just seems hopeless... my sister usually helps me by telling me what's real and what's not. But that's all I have so far.

I'm glad I'm seeing him tomorrow too!

Sorry to hear that. Maybe distraction is best right now. Hang in there. Not long to go till you see your doctor.

I'm using music and coloring to distract myself. I'm going to take my seroquel early and hopefully I can pass out until tomorrow.

It's sooo close. I can't wait for some change.
