I do like gardening but can only do so much before it gets too hot for me as my meds make me heat intolerant.

Are you dependent on your computer for human interaction?

Yes, to a point. I see my family but rarely see friends so I need more support and this site helps me a lot.

What is the weather like where you are today?

Do you volunteer? If so what do you do? If not what would you do if you could?

I've gone back and forth about volunteering. I just don't know if I can make the commitment.

Do you live alone?

I don't want to comment on politics that could get the thread shut down so I'll just say I'm glad I have Medicare.

Do you feel safer in smaller rooms?

asuming you mean date as in going out with someone, never. I have never been on a date (yep their's my confession of the day.)

of course, you could mean other dates.

such as last date you attempted suicide or last date you were in hospital, but i'm going with the partner thing.

what is the most pointless thing you've ever purchased?

My current health insurance plan

What is the most useful tip you've learned to calm anxiety?

think about what's making you anxious, then think about all the possible sinarios of things that could happen. then think about the likelyhood of it actually happening, and finally about ways you can deal with it.

i'd need longer to actually explain it properly, from what i've just written it does not look helpful at all.

but trust me.. 1 time i'll write a full, in depth description, and then you will all understand

do you like soda?

I used to drink a carton a day of Diet Coke but have stopped that (a true miracle) and drink water and occasionally sweet tea.

How you ever texted or called a hot line?

i'm sorry you didn't find helplines helpful. I guess they don't work for everyone.

I like to relax by listening to cds of sounds of nature, or the rain, or nice piano music.

I used to collect cds like that.
are you gullible? (I so am!)

Major life stress events....the kind that would send anyone into a state of confusion. People say circumstancial issues mean you don't have bipolar, but this is not true for me. I have issues within a month of the stressful event. If this happens once it's called brief psychotic disorder but if it happens more than once, you get labeled with one of these illnesses which seems unfair as I really believe even the most sane of people would have my issues had they went through the things I have.

Do you feel your doctor fully listens to you and asks the right questions?

My pdoc is ok. Could be better
My pcp is good .dosent blame everything on bipolar
But I'm not the type to put medical professionals on a pedestal. I have no interest in them really. I don't get attached or need thier attention. I just want them to do their job

If you have been hospitalized what was the worst part for you?

Not having to cook and clean up after meals...and the support of most of the staff (some are horrible and should find another profession)

How often do you see your pdoc when in hospital? (for those who have been IP)

All the Times I was in the hospital i saw the hospital's pdoc. I don't know if it works different here or something .
My pdoc would just pick up after I got out.
I would usually see the hospital pdoc everyday and usually they were really good

Do you isolate when at the hospital?

Surprisingly no because I am an extreme introvert. I grew very close to some people IP and still keep in contact with them.

Have you ever questioned whether you were misdiagnosed?
