Yeah a real bad sickness can leave me not worrying or caring about being bipolar.

Have you ever had surgery?

Yes, too many. 2 knee surgeries in high school, diagnostic gyn surgery in 2011, hysterectomy 2012 and ankle reconstruction in 2014. No more for me.

Do you have trouble finding specialists who can treat non-psychiatric problems while not messing up your psychiatric meds?

I haven't really had a problem, but I think that is going to change the older I get.

Do you feel being bipolar holds you back from what you really want in life?

Yes I've tried many paths and been rejected.

Are you old enough for reading glasses or bifocals?

Not yet, but I know that will be coming next because I have worn glasses all my life.

Are you the only one in your family with bipolar?

I'm definitely ready for glasses I think. I tried a pair of my friends reading glasses on and the world was so sharp and detailed! I'm in denial though lol

do you hate or like feeling numb?

I like feeling numb sometimes. (Not all the time)

What do you use to get on the boards? (Computer, laptop, phone, etc)

I thought these feelings were gone. Being in a relationship makes the moods come back? Why ?

I'm trying with diet and exercise both. Some days are better than others.

Do you struggle with constipation from meds?

CurlySue, you may want to post a new thread with some details. This thread isn't likely to get you answers that you are seeking.

lol to bipolar in sync. sounds like a boys band gone wrong

.so I try to eat "clean" and i like zumba or any dance type of exercise but I fall off the wagon quite a bit. I like lifting weights too because it really makes you feel strong and sculpts the muscles but I fell out of that as well. trying to get back In!

do you feel like, as Alice in wonderland said , "you lost your muchness" ? after living with bipolar so long

I believe this was the question:

I do, I feel I have no "muchness" left. My imagination, everything that made me feel a part of something is no longer there. Quite sad, actually.

The worst side effect has been lack of spirit or feeling anything anymore. I am a deeply spiritual person and to feel nothing anymore hurts a lot.

My question:

Do you find your self in a regular sleeping pattern? Or does mania keep you up at night?

I have a good routine but mania is kicking my butt at the moment.

What are your coping strategies for when you lose a good mental health professional whom you have attached yourself to?

it has never really happened to me but I imagine the transition must be difficult. I think time and self care would probably help.

do you have a dark sense of humor?

I wouldn't call my sense of humor "dark", more "weird"

I love jokes and i'm not very easily offended.

question: what was for dinner last night?

Unfortunately, just a turkey sandwich, I wasn't really in the mood for anything else.

What would be considered a "good day" for you mood wise?

Floating just above stable but not quite hypomanic. Peace, no agitation or irritability, and generally happy but still able to be moved by sad things.

How long are your stable periods in general?

I honestly don't know, mainly because it's been so long since I was actually stable (and oh do I miss it sometimes!)

when is your next appointment, and who is it with? (pdoc, therapist, etc)

I like to think it's a little more complicated than,

" the rain is a depressing weather, so it makes us depressed"

chemicals again?

perhaps a far fetched theory, but chemicals in the sunshine and the rain go towards affecting us

or, maybe we do need to go back to basics

like being round certain types of people can affect our mood, same goes for weather
who knows.

are you anxious about anything in the upcoming week?
