Greetings and warm wishes to all.

A minor stressor coming up today. I have to take our dog in to have his stitches removed. While we were in Hawaii, he was playing with another dog at the place we left him and he got torn open on his side and shoulder. Apparently greyhounds have skin like tissue paper.

There's a positive aspect to this, though. The appointment will keep me indoors during the eclipse, so I won't end up staring into the sun.

Feeling really irritable today. Ran out of my one medicine and I don't have the money to get it refilled til the first of September. Tired of being broke at the end of the month.

Now I'm freaking out because I got a rice notice. That means the board of ed is discussing my employment. The last time I got a rice notice I got fired. So they may not be approving me to start my new job. So I'll be jobless after all.

I'm supposed to go on Wednesday to fill out paperwork so I guess I'll find out then.

If I lose this job it means I've been blacklisted in education and will have to look for a receptionist job or something. Which is fine, I don't want to stay in education anyway. But I want to know what the board is saying about me because my supervisors told me that it was no misconduct on my part that got me fired, just lack of skill. So wtf.

I might just be catastrophiZing but I don't think so.

I have the mother of all ear aches. On top of that I spilled half my medication for it last night. So I won't have enough for ten days.

This must be quite disconcerting!
I am not sure of what to say in order to be "comforting" at this point; you've been through the ringer, repeatedly, or so it seems. My heart goes out to you.

Does anyone served a "rice notice," or under this type of a review ever consult an attorney, either through a union or on one's own? Do you have access to representation if you want representation? How can you be as sure as possible the process is fair to you?

Crap! You don't need this!
I am very sorry this has come about and I hope things do turn out in your favor.

Please be kind to yourself and keep us posted on how you are doing?

Made it through the day. Having frozen pizza for dinner tonight. Quick and easy and minimal clean up, I like that.

If my old district is bad mouthing me for no reason I have legal recourse through the union but I don't have it in me to fight this. I'd much rather just leave education. It's what I want to do anyway. I only took the assistant position because the school schedule works with my son's schedule so well. But I'll take a different job and figure out child care if I need to. Anything to be out of education. It was no good for me, nothing but stress and anxiety.

Thanks for your well wishes.

Best wishes, Wildflowerchild.

In case anybody cares, the stitches all came out, but one tear near his short rib is still puffy. They told me to keep the shirt on him for another 24 hours and prevent him scratching or chewing at that spot. Yeah, right! Fortunately, it appears to be much less itchy for him with the suture out.

...and another update regarding my day and its stressors: The high school my sons attend is having their open house tonight. Potluck dinner and classroom tours. ...I desperately do not want to do this. I don't want to socialise and don't need the tour. I used to teach there, so visiting my old classroom elicits anxiety and self criticism since I can no longer teach.

Submitted my final assignments for my class. It was a struggle since I've been so unstable. Plus it's for education, and I'm quitting the program anyway.

Now to apply for my master's in social work.

We talked to a dealer about a new toyota prius. It was nice but not nice enough of a deal to buy a new one. I will pay off the old honda fit ...have only $4,700 left to pay off the car. Bipolar Check in thread #20
We just bought a new bed and will have the expense of cutting down a tree in our back yard in a week or so.
We really can't afford a new car right now.
Maybe next year.
Car payment would have been $388 a month.
yikes!
So am proud of myself for not impulsively buying that car.!!!!
I texted my therapist tonight that I did not buy the car
and she was proud of me.

If I were you, I would consider not taking this job at all. You are obviously unhappy with education. The RICE procedure is evidence of your dissatisfaction. Why not read the writing on the wall and give up on education for good? Go straight to a job as a receptionist or something along those lines. You will be much happier in the long run.

I am doing well and have been stable for a long time. I usually remember to take my medicine, although I do forget. What helps is that I am also on meds for high blood pressure and cholesterol, and those I cannot ignore -- so I take my lithium etc. with those and am more regular as a result. We have a daughter and her family living at home with us. It is a supremely stressful situation. Our home is not our home anymore, and we do not approve of the way she is bringing up our grandchildren. It is also costing us a lot of money. But I think that, despite the tension and anxiety, I am handling everything in a very stable fashion. My wife, who is not BP, is not doing as well as I am. Maybe she could use some of my meds.

Back up today but not extremely so. Maybe just slightly higher than normal. I'm going to fill out paperwork for my job tomorrow so I will find out then whether I actually have the job or not. If not that's fine, I'll reopen my unemployment case and search for another job outside of education. I might do that anyway.

Wanted to make a tattoo appointment today but the shop is closed tuesdays. Trying to figure out what to do today. I don't really have anything I need or want to purchase. I think it's too hot to drive to the beach. So I'm Not sure. I don't want to sit around all day. This is why I hope I actually do have that job, I'm no good at being unemployed.

Thank you! It was pretty easy to walk away.
I decided it was too expensive to buy a new car. Would not have gotten enough for my trade in. $7,000 when I think it is worth $8,500. It is in excellent shape.
I need to look at other sites dealerships in surrounding areas to see if we could get a better deal.
So more home work, no quick decisions.
My current car payments are $252 a month. The new car would be $388 a month.
So a big jump.
I only have about 19 payments before my car is paid off.Bipolar Check in thread #20
If I want to get a new car, now is the time to do that.
I think my car is in excellent condition.
We are having a tree taken out of the back yard at the end of this month.
That is $1500.
Then the bill for the new bed came in. $200 a month payment for 2 years=$3850 total so that was expensive.
I still really like my car.
I just thought that I would get better gas mileage, slow down my driving etc.
anyway.
Have a good day yall!

Some of you know about my dad. He is released from the hospital today. I'm nervous since I think he should have doctors keeping an eye on him. But he is glad to be going home.

Finished my literature assignment, but I didn't do it very well. I should've taken some time to revise it, but oh well. Will be reading ahead and see if I can get more of a handle on this.

Took a shower and posting before dinner. Still need to plan meals for the remainder of the week and next week.

Hope my face clears up before Thursday.

I'm anxious still, but managing.
