I can't believe how bad my memory has become. I remember tragic events but I couldn't tell you the name of my favorite music album.

My memory sucks too. I blame Lamictal. It's fried my brain!

Lamictal had helped a lot, though, so I guess there are pros and cons to everything. In my case, I'm a raging psychopath without it, so I prefer to stay on it

My memory has been slipping lately as well. Whereas before I was sharp as a tack, now I have a hard time trying to remember facts. It eventually pops into my awareness but I don't like it.

My memory is pretty ****ed from ECT. Thankfully it's recovered some and the last series didn't affect me as much but I've forgotten quite a few important events. I can only remember them through pictures or stories other people tell. It's disheartening but it was necessary.

I don't know about your meds, if any or all of them could be causing cognitive difficulties. Maybe have a chat with your pdoc when you see them next.

Hello
Has your Dr recommended transcranial magnetic stimulation to improve cognition? My husband's doctor keeps pushing this treatment but I have not read much into it.

What meds are you on? I too am having memory problems and I am suspecting the Lamictal. But like Blue, I'm a psychopath without it, so it's probably worth it.

Meds are in my signature. I suspect either the lamictal or the zyprexa which I am coming off of.

My short-term memory sucks. I can quote you the lyrics from a song that came out in 1968, but I can't tell you what I ate for breakfast or even IF I ate breakfast. I blame the Lamictal since I'm on a high dose and the doctors in the hospital told me that this would probably happen. But I can't do without it, so I just put up with the side effects of memory loss and balance problems. It's embarrassing sometimes, especially when I can't remember something I've been told and I have to ask multiple times what was said. But what are you gonna do?

Lamictal, Zyprexa, Xanax, the memory trifecta. I feel your pain. I too can not remember what I had for dinner last night, and can't even try to remember names. I can tell you what I did 15 yrs ago, but if I want to go tell my wife about something I just saw on tv I have to write it down because I will forget what it was by the time I make it to the other end of the house. We can't live without our drugs, but damn the side effects. In my case I blame the Lamictal and the Xanax.

I am another CRS victim. I also have recent memory slips but remember worthless details from decades ago.

I've been having significant problems with recalling info.
For me, some of it has been meds. Some of it has been severe depression.

I've noticed my recall is improving with a med change (off Latuda) and onto Abilify. We each react so differently to each med, it seems.

The anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs) have always given me cognitive problems, drugs like: Depakote, Lamictal, Topamax, Keppra, Trileptal, Neurontin, etc.

I've been on Klonopin for over 20 years & strongly suspect that the benzos do cognitive damage. My memory is decimated.

I'm also suspecting lamictal. Had few times at work walk into the supply room and forget what I was getting. Feeling bit better since started lamictal. At 50 mg now upgrading to 75 by end of the week.

Wild Coyote mentioned it obliquely, but it bears repeating: depression, itself, plays havoc with the memory. A simple search with the terms "poor memory depression" results in scores of academic articles reinforcing this. I am of the opinion that it's more often the depression which impacts the memory than some pharmaceutical.

Of course, I'm also an ECT patient undergoing maintenance treatment. If you want to talk about memory problems...

I had some memory problems with Latuda, but it's even worse since I'm taking a muscle relaxer for my back. If I don't keep myself focused I forget quickly and it's frustrating.

I have bad memory problems. Difficulty with word recall. Have a difficult time expressing myself. I KNOW for me it was meds that messed me up. I started lithium and lamictal at the same time. I'm 90% sure it was lithium that messed me up. I've been off it for years now. I have been taking lamictal for 10 years though.

Sometimes my memory is great, at other times is gone.....I lose chunks of time and memories when unwell. I worry the medication will impact my typically better than average memory and steal one of the few positive attributes I have left. I sure hope that is not the case. I'm sorry for anyone who suffers with memory issues. (((Hugs)))

My memory is very good but I have no concept of time since I suffered brain damage from drinking and was put on meds as soon as I quit drinking. As far as I am concerned everything in my life happened 5 years ago even though I know that can't possibly be true. It's a strange feeling.
Lamictal robbed me of my ability to write anything more than a few sentences whereas before I could write a short story in a day or so. To make things worse it seems the Lamictal will be increased as it is the only thing that keeps the severe depression at bay.
