What Self Care Did You Do Today?

I think it is important that we take note of our self care, work to improve it and in general watch out for our best interests. To that end, I thought if we share about what kinds of things we do each day to take better care of ourselves, we can help one another to take the best care of ourselves that we can.

I'm hoping that we feel free to not only share about how we are taking care of our physical health, but our mental health too.

So please, focus on caring for yourself, sharing here how you have done so (or plan to do so) and then tell us about the results too. How did your self care make you feel?

Feel free to share about this every day. Each day is a new day and new things that come up may well require different kinds of self care than you performed yesterday!

I read some in a book I am reading all about codependency and how to not be codependent. I made sure I got enough sleep last night. I ate what meals I should have so far today. I called a friend and made sure we are "OK" and that our plans for the holiday and beyond are still in place.

I put my hair in pig tails, so it would not get into my face during exercise. Speaking of exercise, I did that too. In fact, I added some weights to it.

This is a tough one.. my "inner critic" doesn't want me to do self care, and it wants me to post about it (or share it with anyone) even less.

My mood is better than yesterday and my anxiety is lower so maybe I'm doing something right

I woke up very late and didn't mentally beat myself up about it

Even if it is only one little thing that we can do, that is better than nothing. You don't even have to share here about it. If you did it, great! Pat yourself on the back and feel good.

I've done my daily Calm meditation, showered, cleaned house, and eaten well. Plus I worked on my self-talk so I could get my confidence back so I could continue posting on PC. I am currently re-evaluating my relationships.

I took a shower. Yea! This is actually a big deal because I've been having to force myself to shower. I don't know what my problem is.

I took a shower, ate a healthy breakfast, washed my support stockings by hand and did some work on my codependency issues. I journaled about that last. I also worked a bit on my fish tank, and since the fish cannot do that, I figure that counts as self care too.

I went to Mass. Even though it's hard to go by myself, it always does me good. I also have a group of widows I hang out with afterwards, and we have coffee and donuts.

Since it is a holiday, I was able to take a morning nap, what a luxury. I brushed my hair a lot, listening to some peaceful music, ate a healthy breakfast, and did some work in a workbook I have that is about self-improvement.

I saw my regular doc this afternoon. Taking care of physical things seems to help the mental things as well.

I sang to myself.

Amanda palmer's song, "runs in the family"

hard song to do (because it's so fast), but I did it.

I love singing to myself, even though my voice sounds like a cross between Emilie autumn and elvis pressley (is that even possible?)

well, anyway, it is now.
