A German Shepherd, raised from puppyhood.

Have you ever considered having a psychiatric service dog (which would have the same privileges as any service animal)?

People already have companion dogs for anxiety...on airplane flights and so on....

Can a cat be a service animal???

a cat can be a companion for sure. It can be a "service animal" if it is trained to perform a task (s) that is helpful to you/your disability diagnosis.

(I did not know they allow "companion" animals on planes. I thought they had to be Service or Psychiatric Service" animals. Interesting.)

I'd carefully check state laws in any case -- any animal, service or companion.

What was the name of your first pet?

I am sorry. In retrospect, that was probably not an appropriate question to ask.

I do not enjoy video games but my daughter is in college studying video game design and just won a major national award for her video game that she designed. We are so proud.

Does your pdoc give you prn's to take in event of an issue?

Yes, I have Clonazepam and Seroquel. I use Clonazepam daily but the Seroquel I only use rarely when unable to sleep or just need to punch out for the night.

Do you keep an emergency stash of your meds in case you cannot get a refill in time?

I try my best to keep an emergency stash. My insurer counts pills at each refill. I am also on lots of different meds.

Has your pharmacy started to "counsel" you and/or your doctor about using benzodiazepines and/or opioid pain meds?

eh im use to riding this rodeo but the fear of major depression returning is there. I have been without that monkey for a while and i hope it stays off my back!

when you are hypo do you feel you could melt into the colors of the universe? A song? A beautifully written poem?

a magic computer?

I often imagine myself having magical computer adventures

the idea came about long ago when I thought about what would happen if you typed something in on google, and then you were transported through the cd drive in to the adventure of what ever you typed.

I even made a story out of it, involving these 2 girls kate and jennifer who go missing after kate gets her computer taken away to the shop and they are trapped inside the screen.

I often wonder what the cd drive could do

vending machine?

time vortex?

magic sink?

magic trash bin?

a door that leads to narnia?

anyway that's my train of thought usually

question:

how did teachers react to you at school because of your MI?

Yes. Bipolar is very isolating because people just don't get it. My husband, who gets it more than most, is into protecting me from the world, which is even more isolating.

hmm well i did well in school but got into trouble a lot. They didn't have the interventions and knowledge they (seem ) to have today. My 10 year old neice has an artist soul and is introverted and the teacher thought she was depressed and sent hiome references to mental health help etc. ! She wasnt depressed but i sure wish it was like thar when i was young! Btw i like your story idea Shattered!

Do you hsve anyone in your life who is never satisfied with how you are doing?

call.

it's the reason I have my telephone, If I wanted to text someone, I could use the computer to email them

it may surprise you that i've never actually sent a text via phone before.

question: do you get embarrassed easily?

I don't go to the movie theater because of crowds and stuff.
but I cry at movies at home all the time, even happy ones that are designed to make you laugh

have you ever wanted to ask your therapist something, or talk to them about something, but you are too embarrassed to bring it up?

Manic with auditory hallucinations but not nearly as severe as often happens to me.

What is the worst side effect you've ever had?
