Managed to cook dinner successfully last night. This morning I successfully caught a train to an unfamiliar place to meet my son for an early lunch.
Feeling ok

P.S. how do I change the 'my mood' picture on the side?

If you're on a desktop or laptop, in the upper right hand corner, under your username, there is a hyperlink (the blue writing) next to the words "My mood" that you can click on which opens a drop down box which will allow you to change the setting. Hope that helps.

I feel okay. Finally have a day off. I tend to feel ignored in my day-to-day. I feel ignored on here most of the time as well. I am not on here a lot, so no one knows me; that may have something to do with it. Also, I probably post things no one knows how to answer.

Oh, well.

Thank you so much. I only have a iPad mini. But I'll give it a go on my hubby's laptop tonight.

I can do it from my iPad mini. The link is gray and lighter but if I press it a drop down gives me a choice of moods. Currently I have no mood so it doesn't show.

Akathisia remains an ongoing problem, despite the greater use of second-generation antipsychotics. The exact mechanism of development remains poorly understood, although ongoing research points to a greater involvement of other neurotransmitter systems outside of dopamine, such as acetylcholine, serotonin, and GABA. From this new theoretical foundation, treatment strategies have moved beyond longstanding regimens (eg, beta-blockers, anticholinergics, benzodiazepines) by including serotonin-based pharmacotherapy (eg, mirtazapine, mianserin). Based on akathisia’s similarity to movement disorders such as RLS, new approaches under investigation include medications that increase dopamine and GABA (eg, ropinirole, gabapentin, pregabalin, vitamin B6), which are depleted with neuroleptic use. Timely diagnosis and adequate treatment are key in maintaining patient rapport, improving medication compliance, and increasing efficacy. Thus, providers need to be aware of this phenomenon and understand how to manage it effectively using the latest research-supported treatment regimens (Table 1).

I have these! I started getting restless leg syndrome again, never put it together as a side effect of my geodon.

It is in the 30s here right now. I don't mind it so much. But I wish it would just snow already.

I'm glad you finally had a day off, but sorry you don't feel acknowledged in your day-to-day life. I know you have a full schedule & being down doesn't help. As for feeling ignored here, I think that's just negative self-talk. A PC user who knows everyone on the boards probably spends too much time on the computer! I feel people on PC are like a pack of wolves (or is that hyenas? )...we take care of our own, whether familiar, or not. Please keep posting. I think it's a healthy place to share the things that are bothering us. As for your contention that you post things no one knows how to answer, you're right. That question you wrote a while back - "How & why was the universe formed?" was a bit out of my league.

As for me, they kicked up my shoulder surgery to next Thursday. I'll be hurtin' for certain (rotator cuff surgery is notoriously painful) & I'll have my arm in a sling for at least 4-6 weeks - which means it will be very difficult for me to type & that I'll be cooped up because I can't drive until my shoulder has improved & is out of the sling. So...there's always that to look forward to. On the bright side, Michigan State plays Ohio State on Saturday. If State wins, they have a great chance of playing in the Big Ten Championship Game. That will be something to distract me so my brain won't entirely overheat. One of my big concerns about this surgery is how the pain & isolation will affect my moods. The time change & the decreasing daylight are both bad since I already have SAD...plus, as you know, graystreet, Michigan is generally pretty freakin, gray & cloudy this time of year. Oh well, things can always be worse, right?

I so don't want to go to work today. I know it's going to be a rough one. A bit short staffed. Filling in. So my work won't get done. Will probably be dealing with a crap ton of anxiety and people lashing out at me because I'm "the boss".

Feeling happy today and being productive. That’s good because I’m having surgery Monday to remove the defective lapband and I don’t know what the downtime is. Surely, not too many days. Have recently started walking my dog regularly and want to start going to the gym more frequently. There was no pain and no complications putting it in but my mid torso was a truly frightening bloom of colors which made me quesy.

So happy to get this thing out. I’m already looking forward to having turkey for Thanksgiving. Yay!!!

I've been pretty depressed for the past week or so and it doesn't show signs of getting better any time soon. I even have things to look forward to yet I just feel lost and hopeless. I thought this funk was just situational in nature but it's starting look like another depressive cycle. I wish this would all just stop.

I see you're new to PC. Welcome. I hope you find some help here...if nothing else, you'll be aware that you're not alone wrestling with "The Beast" (that's what I call depression.) I hope your "funk" is just a passing thing, but I know seasonal depression is a problem for some folks (I'm raising my hand!) Anyways, take care & keep posting.

Back at work, it's a crazy day. Feeling ok, I'm little out of sorts and having trouble thinking things through here at work. I'll be working at a snails pace lol.

I had a lucky escape today

really anxious about someone calling us this afternoon on the phone who we didn't know.

well, fast forward to the afternoon, and they actually never called

the good side to that is, is that i didn't have to face my anxiety (it was really bad), but also I kind of needed that call to help with something, so it's a sort of let down too.

but mostly a plus

score!

My day has been decent. I’ve still been not feeling that good. I tapered off Zoloft and I’m having withdraw side effects. Light headed, nausea and achy body. My daughter was home with a stomach ache. She’s feeling better now. Well it’s about 10pm I’m getting in bed.
