I know that people don’t necessarily have the state of mind to do that, but if it is a possibility, it is good to ask about if this ever comes up again and then get her to do it.
In our state it depends on which hospital the person is in. The particular one K is in is in a small town.

I had a good nights sleep. This morning I walked the dog and took a shower. I fixed breakfast but couldn’t eat it. But just ate a little lunch. I spoke to my daughter K and she’s still doing good. Tomorrow is her court date. I’ve downloaded the Uber app on my phone. K explained to me how to use it. I’m so excited and nervous. I’ve been to court before it did not take long.

Well everyone my daughter K had court today. The hospital psychiatrist recommended she receive longer treatment at another facility. K had a court appointed attorney. The told the judge that K was wanting to return to work and her apartment. That she had her mom as a support system. I was sitting in the back of the court room. K spoke to the judge and told her that she was mad at her friend for having her committed. But she’s not anymore because she was correctly diagnosed and put on the correct medication. The judge paused for a few seconds then said “I think you should stay a little longer”. K took it graciously. The next hospital they are taking her to I have been in. This particular faculty holds their court at the hospital. I spoke to the attorney he said now they will usually keep a person 3-5 days longer.

Sounds like K is more open to treatment now than she was in the beginning, that can only be good and reduce the length of time she has to stay. I take it that the uber experience went well?

I'm sorry she has to stay longer but glad to hear she took it well and remained calm. I imagine she will be out as quickly as possible by her demeanor.

K arrived at the other facility and she said the psychiatrist is nice. They have not taken her back to the unit yet. It hurts my heart that she’s going to this particular facility. It’s a dump.

Uber was great. Very quick service and clean.

I have great news everyone. My daughter K is being discharged today. Just received a call from the hospital. The staff person wanted to know if I was picking my daughter up and if I needed directions. Then I asked if they were giving her a prescription for meds. The lady said she was not sure and would find out.

Thank you all again for all your support

I took K to her apartment to shower and dress. Now we are at her job. She works for one of the big insurance companies. She’s turning in “copies” of her notes showing she was IP. Tomorrow she has an app with her pdoc afterwards she will go to work. We are going to go have pizza. K is going to spend the night with me.
I told her she can go for a walk out by the lake.

Yay! So glad she’s well enough to be discharged. How does she feel about going right back to work?

She feels that with being on a mood stabilizer will really help her deal with work.
