I don’t trust doctors

And someone gave me some “helpful” “advice”...

They SUCK in this country (Not USA)

Also I notice some people never seem to receive such ..”helpful” “advice”

Or maybe they do ..I wish some people, especially doctors thought more before they spoke

So many times i have consulted a doctor, they give 10 minutes or less, and I leave feeling worse than before I went in

(How could the fact that some doctors are incompetent be anything less than a tragedy )

I have to put my muzzle on grrrrrrr

I'm with you, fuzzy.

actually my first doctor was so bad that they miss diagnosed a friend of mine and shrugged her issues off as just a cold, next thing you know she was in the hospital, really ill, body shutting down

you gotta wonder

As you say, the UK health service is so underfunded now that the GPs many of us consult barely have time to be polite. In. Beg for help. Out. It's infuriating.

Yep and if you turn up at hospital begging for help they call you a time waster and kick you out, happened to me a few years ago

That exact thing hasn’t happened to me as hospitals.. well.. ugh

But how do we even survive when the “mental” “unhealth” services are as they are.

People are screaming for help, real deep pain....they are ignored.

I remain silent, but I feel that same despair

And I’m SO TIRED of this sickness that is the ..... “mental” “unhealth” - where they BLAME and VIOLATE the victim.

That and other things make me want to be gone from this planet. I’ve survived for a long time. Maybe too long

But I’m not one to make vain threats . If I decide that my time is up I’ll go quietly and hope it ****ing works

(((((((( whispershadow ))))))))

I’m so sorry that happened to you, you’re such a lovely person, it stinks to the pits of hell how some of these “professionals” behave

I wish I really was a bear ...

The health care situation is every bit as desperate here in the States. The health care - especially mental health care - is in crisis. But then, our entire nation is in crisis. At least you in the UK have your lovely, wonderful Queen. I envy you - wish she would take us back.

It is also scary here in the U.S., as Laurie has pointed out.
our mental health care system is in trouble. So are primary care practices.

My pdoc just retired and for months, it looked like I was going to have no pdoc at all! I would be in trouble without a pdoc. Same goes with my primary care doc; he is retiring and they've been having difficulties finding a replacement.

Pdocs and primary care docs are frustrated with the conditions under which they must work, even at a university (teaching) hospital/health care center.

It's all so damned frustrating!

HUGS Fuzzy!

Ugh. I hope a replacement for your primary care doc happens soon. My primary care doctor is a nice woman, but...meh...not the greatest doctor. Especially when it comes to psych meds! She basically refuses to deal with psych stuff at all, except in a true emergency. Even then, she's "loudly" reluctant.

My pdoc went out on a "sudden medical leave" last week. I have an appointment scheduled for September 3rd, but I'm very stressed from worrying about her leaving. The last 3 pdocs I've had in my town all left with absolutely no warning or closure. I think that is professionally terribly irresponsible, but that's what they do. Tough luck for the patients. Finding another pdoc anywhere near where I live would be unlikely.

How unsettling!

It's kind of strange that your primary care is not more proficient with psych meds, imho. Some primary care docs around here are having to manage psych meds simply because we have a huge shortage of pdocs.

I hope your pdoc is okay and is staying.
Very scary!

Thank you, WC. It is quickly becoming the standard around here that GP's cannot prescribe psych meds. I totally understand the importance of seeing a pdoc for psych issues, but any doctor should have knowledge of all meds. The whole mess leaves mentally ill patients without care.

Heh.. well this has gone off topic, I respect that people have different opinions.

It’s something somewhat sub optimal for those in the uk who find NO DOCTOR with the ability to listen. But we are “disposable” ..”not as good as them” ...But they try to FORCE us to stay “alive”

Isn’t that what abusers do?

I am sorry. I just am not having a good day.

It seems that your system across The Pond appears to be broken. Could it be their case load? Is it just their attitude? Lack of resources? I just do not understand how the system you have to deal with every day works the way it does.

From what I see you are saying, do you mean that there is apparently no personal attention to their patients care? No commitment to the quality of their patients future wellbeing? I guess it starts with a health provider willing to spend the time to listen to their patient. I am sorry to see you are in a very frustrating situation indeed!

I'm lost. But I guess some posts were edited, so that's why this thread seems a bit disjointed.

It seems to me that the entire western medical hierarchy is constructed in a way that is deeply flawed. In a great many ways, yes - it does feel like abuse. Not just feel like: it is abusive. That terrible power paradigm is ever-present. And too, there's the reality that, for those of us who have been abused, we tend to be exceedingly sensitive to anything that feels the least bit abusive.

The trick of it all, to me, is not to become bitter. To somehow avoid falling into that trap.

It’s not all that optimal is it dear Purple. In fact it’s ridiculous.
