fern, that seems a shame that your doc won't get 10 mg capsules made for you at a compounding center. That could really make the process a lot easier for you.

Wild Coyote, would you consider splitting your low dose pill? When I was being weaned off Geodon, as fern is doing, my Seroquel XR dose went up so sleep wasn't such an issue for me. But I know that at this point in my life, lowering Seroquel XR would decrease my sleep, unless I was depressed with hypersomnnia. Probably it would decrease my sleep anyway. That's helpful about the Y and possible discounts for the disabled. I would never think to ask for that there.

BethRags, that sounds great that you joined the Y. I hope you really like it and stick with it.

Seroquel regular was more weight unfriendly than Seroquel XR is. Really, for me, Seroquel XR is not that bad in terms of weight gain. I know it is for many people, but I do hope such reports don't deter others from trying what could be a very helpful medication. For me, medications like Depakote, Zyprexa, and Trilafon were significantly more weight unfriendly than even Seroquel regular, let alone Seroquel XR. And yet, I have read reports of people not gaining weight on them.

Today I is the 1st day of that time of the month, for me. In recent months, it has been a little rougher than it had been in the past. I'm not sure why. Anyway, it could be worse. I shouldn't really complain.

Hi BirdDancer!

I may have misled you. I am in the midst of a taper. I had gone from 100mg. to 50 mg for 3 weeks. I am now trying 25 mg. at bedtime this week. I hope I can decrease and get some sleep.

It's extra challenging because there is so much going on in my life. It may not be the most ideal time to taper off of it. Yet, I really need to get off of it! We may be able to find an alternative. Trouble is, I have tried so many of them.

I desperately need a nap, yet cannot sleep more than 10-30 seconds.

Things will probably even out soon, I hope.

Thanks for your concern.

Good luck with losing weight.
My pdoc said she will consider dropping the Seroquel dose if I can be stable for 3mths - I’ve never been stable for that long.

WC, I hope your sleep improves.

I’m trialling Optifast at the request of my doctors. It means replacing meals with shakes. I’ll keep you all posted whether the weight comes off.

I was feeling like crap today, but I pushed ahead and did my workout. I feel so much better now. I'm not sure if the taper is causing my symptoms or if I just have a bug, but I'm glad it isn't too bad. My body needed the exercise after the time off last week.

I'm having a very healthy eating day. It feels good to replenish my resources with the right kinds of foods and plenty of water.

Christina - sometimes it just has to be pizza night! I have trouble finding them sometimes, but Flatout makes a thin pizza crust that is great. Its 130 calories for each crust which isn't bad at all compared to normal pizza. That only works if you like thin crust though, but thin is my favorite!

JUst not a good day, physically. Had fitful sleep last night, even thoug I went back up to 50mg Seroquel. Woke up this morning feeling like I have a GI bug. Have felt that way all day long.

Could not eat today, so far. Not very likely to change as it is after 6 pm now.

Tomorrow is a brand new day!

I've had mild M cramps every day for the last few days. That on top of some anticipatory anxiety has me feeling uneasy. I may decide to take a small dose of Ativan later in the day.

Having another day of discomfort. Another fitful night. Kept awakening with upper GI pain. It was worse by 8am. I had started this right after an injection of Enbrel. I have looked up side-effects and I suspect Enbrel to be causing my sx. Some of the most common sx include headache, stomach pain, fatigue, etc. I don't know what else might be causing this. Although it kind of feels like a "bug," nobody around me has a bug. My GI sx are pain in the upper GI, some heartburn.

Also have disc problems in my back. Many. However, certain one(s) are acting up recently. I have pinched nerves at mid-back and the pain wraps around both sides of my ribs. It gets worse as the day progresses. I am in agony with it. Had to cancel a dental appointment today,as we had procedures scheduled and I just could not sit there for 2 hours. Rescheduled for 2 weeks away. I am seeing my PT /chiropractor.

Love to All!

Hi, I am hoping your family is over it!

I think mine might be caused by Enbrel. I don't know for sure yet.
I cannot eat. I have been living on Reed's ginger brew. Lots of ginger!

I hope the ginger helps. It is so hard to keep going when you cannot keep anything down. It just zaps out all of your energy. Hopefully you'll be able to eat something soon. I've been worried about you. Have you been able to sleep?

I am feeling better today GI-wise. Everyone else is over it now too. I was the last to get it. I also caught a cold from my son, but it is nothing major. He rebounded pretty quickly, so I expect to do the same. We always pick up a bug or two at the start of the school year.

Daonnachd, are you still around? I haven't seen a check in from you in a while and you were taking on some somewhat dangerous bike rides. Just wanted to make sure you're ok.

I love ginger!

I have not been able to eat. I did just ate 1/4 cup yogurt to see if i can tolerate it. It was full of probiotics, which I feel is very important.

I sip on kombucha and eat .activia yogurt, eat kimchee and take additional probiotics from Jarrow..

I am glad your family has recovered!

I'm feeling mostly good today. I have a headache, but nothing I can't treat with peppermint oil and plenty of water. My energy is better than it has been for the past few days and I got my workout in without issue.

I do wish the weather would cool a bit. It has been in the upper 90s for days now and it is just miserable outside.

I wish everyone a healthy and happy weekend!

Yesterday I ran my dog too much. Now I feel I am just limping through this day.

Peppermint is so healing, I really enjoy peppermint tea. It helps me wake up/focus/relax and also helps with my digestion issues and keeps me from overeating. I hope your headache went away

I also wish the weather would cool, it has been in the mornings but gets pretty hot again later in the day

Yes, it did go away. Thanks so much for the well wishes.

I use it all the time. I diffuse it. I use it for headaches, nausea and fever. I make mouthwash with it. My kids love it too.

I love taking a shower with peppermint in the soap! it's very refreshing!

Where is Jedi? I have not seen him around. I hope he is okay.

Will check-in later. My niece is coming for lunch... I'd better get started with that!

Love to all!

Hey there, Tucson!
It's so nice to hear from you!

Dogs can be great for motivating people to exercise.
I could never keep up with any of my dogs.
I used to take mine running and cross country skiing.
What fun that you have a dog with which to pal around! You are very lucky!

I'm trying to lose weight. Cut out most junk food and am adding exercise into my days. It's hard. I'm hoping it's easier now that I'm off seroquel and am on more weight neutral meds now.

Very cool! I'm excited for you. What kinds of exercise do you enjoy? It kicked my butt big time, but I went on a plan that only required 30 minutes of intensive training a day. It has been fairly easy to stick to.
