Some people shouldn't be allowed to drive.

I don't know how TN etc. drivers are, but I once saw a lady WRITING IN A BOOK while driving on the highway (Massachusetts). I was like, "oh god... OH GOD." And she was swerving. (surprise surprise)

A common name for Massachusetts drivers is "Masshole." We apparently take pride in winning "Worst Drivers of the Year" award every year. Sometimes we tie with NJ for Worst Drivers, though, so I'm sure that tying hurts Massachusetts people's pride.

We have driven in your state before and it’s insane !!!!!what people were also doing , but we are now in Florida and I’m ready to go all road rage, truckers all just taking up all lanes ( illegal) people swerving all over the road. Cops all sitting in the medians not doing anything apparently, we won’t make it til 530-6 to our hotel and I’m considering using Xanax as breath mints

Send a little virtual klaxon furby to put in your window to scare all the trucks off the road. In Texas truckers aren't allowed in the left hand lanes but that doesn't seem to stop them. What I hate is when there's a convoy of them all nose to tail they don't let cars in to access the exit lanes! Aughta be a law that there must be three car lea lengths between trucks.

We got to the hotel , my daughter was already waiting on us. She brought almost all our luggage in , thankfully. We decided instead of going out .... to order dinner in , I honestly couldn’t think of spending another minute in a car.

Tomorrow we will see a couple friends and Payton in the evening. I’ll see more of Amanda while I’m here too this week also.

I’m totally wiped out. I grew up in this mess... but omg it’s so hot and humid, the pollution? It’s just smells terrible here ! I’m so thankful I moved away from this place 15 years ago!!

I took a couple Xanax they usually need about an hour to kick in and then hopefully I can sleep some, it’s just so loud, I hear outside traffic and doors. I love how quiet it is at home.

So bedtime arrived and hubby packed the wrong tubing for his oxygen concentrator!!!!!!!! I Jerry rigged the nasal canula from his portable bottle for tonight.

I have to find a local medical supply company in the am and have our Doctor send an order there, I hope this will be simple, but hey ! It’s Florida nothing is ever simple !! They will probably want order from Doctor then proof from our oxygen provider at home too. It’s ridiculous that I’ll have to jump through stupid hoops.

I just want a F’ing break , please please please can I just catch a break??

My dog had a few episodes of diarrhea on the trip down that’s been a joy to handle. He’s got super thick long hair so cleaning his backside has been major stressful for him. If he thinks I have a washcloth in my hand he starts whining. Poor guy.. I just literally chewed a Xanax. It better knock me out !

Argh

You battled your way through day one. That's a huge win. I am sure it was wonderful to be able to give your daughter a hug and see her in person. Hopefully the med supply process won't be too daunting today. I also hope your dog feels better soon. Poor buddy.

Hang in there and enjoy the moments you can. Maybe time will fly while you're on this trip. Thinking of you!

I'm glad you're checking in with us, Christina. I'm sorry you've run into some complications already. I'm sure they will be resolved soon.

I hope you will be able to concentrate on the wonderful thing about being there. Your daughter. I hope you spend time with her reminiscing about wonderful times in the past and practicing mindfulness by looking at her lovely face and knowing you have such a person in your life. Savor those moments, if you can, my friend.

It is nice to read that you love/like the home you live in now (I'm assuming somewhere not in Florida or the part you're in today). I don't know if this would be helpful or of interest, but consider taking some of the time you get alone, during the trip, to write out a gratitude list. I can imagine you're happy that your husband is feeling better and that he's happy to see friends/family. Maybe that you look forward to the smell of autumn where you live and that it's coming up quickly. Etc.

11 calls to various medical supply companies later .... I finally found one that we can just go purchase the damn tube and nasal canula. So thankfully that problem is solved.

I guess going to see a couple of his friends today then seeing The grandbaby tonight !

I’ll spend time with my daughter when she gets off work tomorrow and then on Saturday too.

It’s very hot and humid here , my husband will need oxygen if he has to be out doing anything so I will make sure we carry his back pack oxygen with us in the car.

I wish I had slept better, but I got a few hours.

And to think we use to live and work in this over crowded pollution filled city , bleh ! The only good thing here is the kids and grandbaby. I’m a mile from the beach and no one could pay me to go there. Tennessee is indeed my home !

Yes I am trying to focus on the good.. I will have more time with my daughter tomorrow. And seeing grandbaby later tonight.

Hubby is just now getting up he is still very tired from being so sick, but he’d never admit to that of course.... (insert huge eyeroll)

My aunt keeps messaging me practically demanding we stop and see her she’s about 2 hours north. Having our dogs with us complicate things. She’s living in a trailer that literally has holes through the floor, yes you can see the ground , plus my cousin lives there and let’s just say we had a huge falling out when she showed up drunk to my father’s funeral in 97 and made a horrible scene. So we can’t just meet my aunt at some restaurant in town for lunch. I do not look forward to having to go to her home. The both live in filth , sad to say but it’s true. That will be next week.

Everything about this trip is just overly complicated, more so than our standard typical trips down. I just have all my body parts crossed that everything will run smoother from this point on. Lol

How are you today ? Feeling better? Did the extra Seroquil help you ?

I see your dilemma about visiting your aunt. Christina, if you think it best, you can still say no to your aunt. I had to say no to my father asking me to visit him today. I'm intensely upset about his call to me a little bit ago. For my own good, there is no way in the heck I can possibly visit him. I had to tell him that, but still say that I care. It's my assumption that your aunt isn't very ill and possibly a risk to herself. My dad is and yet I still had to say no. I did tell him to call me again today, if he really needs my support. I sort of hope he doesn't. Then I called my sister and asked her to send my nephew to visit our dad. Of course I'm concerned.

We sometimes have to say no. If you've already agreed to visit your aunt and you wish you could cancel, you can still cancel. You have the choice when considering your husband's and your own health.

Yes I may need to make that final flat decision of saying No!

My cousin is a disgusting person worked as a hooker for years, diseases galore yes she has no trouble telling people all about it , nasty. . So yes I fear for my husbands well being along with my own.

I’m sorry about your Dad , but yes sometimes we do have to put our own health mentally and physically first ! Take care of you !!!!!

Take care of yourself, ~Christina. If you don't feel like going, don't go. Our health is important as well and there's nothing wrong with taking care of ourselves. This trip is already a big effort on your part! You'll go when you can. Please don't stress yourself too much over these things! Try to relax and to spend time with your Daughter. I hope your stay there will be as relaxing as possible! Take GREAT care of yourself. Sending many safe, warm hugs to BOTH you, your Husband, your Family and ALL of your Loved Ones! KEEP FIGHTING AND TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!
