I hope that as time passes your sleep will even out to a solid deep restful sleep with no interruptions..

How are you feeling otherwise ??

I have been awake most of the night. Very concerned about a friend.

I tossed and turned. Finally getting up at 5. Inspector dirk gently's holistic show is on. It's like a dream, can't make heads or tails out of it. Shall lay back down soon.

I had some sleep, I woke up feeling grrrr. Papa bear had nightmares, he had a sore head last night. It was ''my fault'' since I tried to talk to him when he was watching tv. I'm concerned about a good friend. I have been for a while. I posted in an ''addiction'' thread in reply to someone else. I do not have ''addictions'' unlike some cruel people in the foo (family of origin) I do not think most with addictions are cruel. But they were

I only sent hugs.

Not quite "insomnia," but I woke up 5 or 6 times last night. Very broken sleep. I still got 7 hours (or maybe a little less than that when you consider that I kept waking up), but it just sucked that I kept waking up every hour (more or less). I hope that tonight is a better night.

I may give melatonin a shot again. Maybe if I keep taking it, it'll eventually help me sleep through the night.

I could sure use a klonopin right about now to relax me enough for sleep, and I don't even like taking that stuff!!

My insomnia is really crazy at the moment. Often lately my body has been forcing me to fall asleep in the afternoon or early evening & then I wake up between 10PM & midnight & can't go back to sleep. So my sleeping clock is REALLY messed up now.

That's what happens to me. I'm so sleepy I can't function at 7 p.m. Then awake at midnight.

Took two full ambien last night and slept.

Was meeting my cousin on a plane. She arranged for us to fly to Huston. There was a mix up and I was to catch a different plane. It was a small plane but big enough to have two middle seats. I sat in the very front next to an older lady. Mid 60's with the dyed perm hair. Slender and dressed in a brown pantsuit. I reached over head for my menu. They had you fill out you dinner choices. The two of us discussioed tea V's coffee then she marked her choices on my menu. There was a full beauty shop nail and make up counter in front of us. And we both decided to get make overs. They had cleaned my face and done one eye when the tea came. Then we started flying low over the city of Huston. We went very low and a tran entertainment lady jumped out into the middle of a festival as tho it had been planed. Then we were taxing down the runway and the whole nose came off the plane so people could exit.

I `ve had insomnia for years and needed meds to be able to sleep. I still wake up several times at night and also have been awoken by nightmares. My meds have not been helping. I woke up at three in the morning and am so tired but I still can`t sleep.

Never would have guessed I’d qualify for this club...used to sleep like a log until 10 years or so ago. Now just keeps getting worse. Some nights I cave and take 1-2 mg Ativan along with the 15 mg zopiclone I already take and I will still wake in the night.
I’m hoping for decent zzzzzz’s for everyone tonight.

I slept slightly better last night. I just got home from work and it was a busy and draining shift so it'll take a while for me to settle down. We have painters coming sometime tomorrow after 9am.

My sleeping episodes are all over the place, very irregular, & never enough. I don't take any medication for sleep; afraid to. But maybe I should try melatonin. Is there anything I should be aware of?

Melatonin either works or not for most people. It’s not going to be like taking a benzo or sleeping Med and it knock you out.

Lots of people try it for couple days and give up.. melatonin is one that often needs a bit of time to build up in your system.

I’ve never heard of any side effects from it. Some people find they need to take it earlier in the evening as they note takes them a bit longer to get moving the next day.

I take it for a few months and it stops helping so I quit for a couple months, I’m due to get back on it.

Melatonin + Valerian Root is a strong combination. CBD can help you relax. A double or triple dose of the Nyquil, the one with alcohol, can work well. I got only a half a dozen hours of interrupted sleep. This has not happened in a long time.

Yes Valerian root can be helpful but it’s very risky mixing it with numerous psych meds, it’s defiantly a question to ask a Pdoc before taking.

That is a good idea. Also WebMD lists the interactions between meds and different herbs. Valerian: Uses, Side Effects, Interactions, Dosage, and Warning
