did the cogentin help?

I had a very slight tremor in my hands from having had scarlet fever as a child, but the major tremor comes from meds. My pdoc is concerned that there's some TD going on. I think that's why she wants me to see a neurologist.

I've taken it for 2 nights. My pdoc said not to expect much until I've been taking it for a week. But between the Amantadine and the Cogentin the shaking is already diminished somewhat. So yay!

Yes, it is used for tremors and it works well. The problem I've had with the Amantadine was that it made me feel like I had a UTI all the time. It was so uncomfortable, plus it affected my sleep because I was having to get up to pee 8 times during the night. I just hope that the lower dose works to at least modify the tremor, without giving me that UTI feeling again.

Did anybody tell you why it would make you feel that way? That's really strange. I wouldn't think an unrelated drug would affect your bladder like that. It sounds very unpleasant!

Sorry about the chronic urge to pee, how awful!
Thanks for explaining that to me.

Don't think I'm going to stay with the Cogentin. It's causing my mouth and throat to be so dry it's difficult to talk and eat. And I drink A LOT of water. Besides, I don't seem to have akathesia...my pdoc keeps focusing on that. I keep telling her that the tremor is outside of my body, that people can see it. It is not a compulsion to move. If she saw me in person instead of on the telehealth she'd see right away what I mean.

I've been sooo anxious lately, the kind in which I'm very easily stressed and scattered. I'm aware that my breathing tends to go into the shallow mode really easily. Lately, it seems that the more I use therapy breathing/visualization techniques, the more stressed I get. I hope it's not the Wellbutrin causing this. I'm on SO much medication, you'd think I'd be a zombie, not a hypervigilant scatter-brained entity.

I am sorry that your anxiety sounds out the roof!
celexa can be helpful with anxiety...in addition to helping with depression.
I know some one who takes it and has really helped her.
Of course there are other meds to take to try: atarax, clonipin or other benzos, seroquel helps anxiety so does sleepy time tea and the likes.

I have social anxiety and often find myself very anxious I will make hot tea or even hot water and hold onto the cup, it gives me something to hold onto something that is not an alcohol drink.
I need to quit drinking!!!! That is an understatement.

I'm sorry your anxiety is so high. Try drinking something through a straw.

Thanks to both of you! I'd forgotten about Sleepy Time Tea! I used to drink it frequently. Drinking tea and drinking through a straw are both excellent ideas. I've been drinking tea during therapy sessions lately and I'm finding it more and more appealing.

Working hard to practice catching every anxious thought, relax my shoulders the moment I catch the thought, and take a deep cleansing breath. The practice is remarkably helpful. Reminding myself that this moment is completely whole as it is. And I am completely whole as I am.

Only med change: 8mg. Trilafon, down from 12mg. It's been a few days and I don't notice any differences.

Trilafon (perphenazine) is an older antipsychotic, but my pdoc prescribed it for severe anxiety. It helped for a few months, then stopped doing anything. I'd say that it's a good med overall, though.
