So, had this giant bike ride yesterday and didn't really eat enough afterward. So, had dreams all night about croissants from a place called Ken's Artisan Bakery, recently voted 2nd best in town. I do agree with that, as the bakery nuvrei's croissants are just slightly better.

Anyhoo, now, I really want a croissant. Possibly, actually, in truth, maybe more than one croissant. I have always wanted to try to make them. I know that is very difficult and I am not a very talented baker. But I do have a lot of free time right now and it would be a fun project to try. So, I just might do it. Need to find a good recipe I think I can manage...

Go for it, my friend! I love croissants, too.

I have never made croissants, but I have contemplated doing so on a number of occasions. If you've looked at the usual recipes, it typically types two days to make. There is a complicated process with folding the butter into the dough and then refrigerating, and then repeating again and again.

Yeah, I really don't think I can do it. But I think I am going to try, anyway...

I want a brownie. Or a croissant stuffed with chunks of craft chocolate.

Hey, I know there are other people who like to do savory as well as bake. Just saw this, some deals on le creuset. Too spendy for me right now, but, just in case, here it is: All Le Creuset Kitchenware Is 20% Off At Williams Sonoma Today Including The '''Star Wars''' Collection

My husband loves pain au chocolat. My favorite filled croissants are almond paste filled, but I also love regular croissants with raspberry or apricot preserves. Mmmm!

Yes. Chocolate paste is passable. But what's really delicious is chunks of good quality chocolate cut into chunks and wrapped into the croissant so the chocolate melts just slightly.

------In Phoenix we are all buying blue light bulbs that show at night to support all the first responders. Phoenix is like a gargantuan slice of suburbia, one would never guess it is the 6th largest city in the US.
The applause must be very moving and I know they so appreciate it. This really brings tears to my eyes. Im so proud of everyone who is rising to the occasion, including the everyday heroes who are doing any kindness for others in these challenging times.

I have been to your city a hundred times and still have no idea what "downtown" looks like, where it might be, or even if it exists.

The layout reminds me of LA.

-----I think you were here on business, yes? There is a cluster of tall buildings near the main airport that is considered downtown. The quality of life is much better here in Phoenix than in LA.. In the west valley we still have many green fields. Exorbitant housing prices and clogged freeways have ruined LA. We lived there for 30 years, and much of that was the golden years, when it was just heavenly there. People really are more friendly here than in LA. You can just start talking to people in fast food lines, for example. In LA, they dont trust strangers at first because there really are a serious quantity of not trustworthy folk. We lived next to a sweet young couple for years. Later we found out he was pretending to be a medical student, being helped with "tuition" by her parents, etc. He actually gave me some benzos once before I was diagnosed-UNBELIEVABLE!
Cant wait to read your book. Im working on a series of books about kids visiting the National Parks, starting with the Grand Canyon here in Arizona. Im using my grandsons as main characters, along with my goofball and hilarious terrier named Dog E Dog in the book. The National Park closures are holding me back in terms of research, tho there is tons of material on the park website. I created Navajo characters for which I need to do some research. In real life, the Navajos have been hit hard by COVID up at the reservation. I need to check the GoFundMe site to see if they are getting help that way.
Too much information? LOL Sorry, this isolation is starting to get to me. Thanks for listening, everybody!

Interesting, lived in Scottsdale and a nice part of Phoenix (I lived near Squaw Peak but the internet says they changed the name!) during my elementary years. I am in my 50's now so must have changed so much but the best part about Phoenix is all the wide open spaces you can drive to...the Grand Canyon, the Salt River, so many lakes, Payson, Pine, Strawberry, Sedona, Prescott and all the trails and wilderness around these cities. Still dream of the mountains in Arizona all of the time. Someday, I will go back. My husband and I are planning to do some RV camping there when we fully retire. Wonder how much it has changed. Lived in the Arizona mountains in the late 70s and early 80s the went to U of A where we went to Mount Lemon and Sabino Canyon on a regular basis......
