Yes, in snapping turtle soup. My father even caught them on rare occasions so my mother could make it from scratch. I confess that it is far from my favorite soup. The spices used are too strong for my taste, sort of like tripe soup. And the meat texture is not my favorite.

Innerzone, I ate octopus in France yesterday afternoon. I liked the dish. I've eaten it before that, too, but only like it prepared certain ways.

Can you filet a fish or cut up a chicken?

No, that's a good way for me to filet or bone my fingers.

How many risk factors do you have for COVID?

They were very few for several months, but recently I have come in contact with many. We've had people coming to our house about home improvements. Also, we flew to Europe and go out daily to restaurants where masks are taken off. So, comparatively high risk. We do our best to clean and sanitize our hands and do wear masks around people when not eating. Masks are still mandatory in France and Spain, in these cases. Most all shops and restaurants also require hand sanitizer when you enter. We had required covid 19 tests before flying. So, if we did get covid 19, it would more likely be from Europe. Not the US. When we return home, we will have more workers coming to do window repairs and painting. If you mean health vulnerabilities, no major ones other than mild kidney damage.

What color paints do you have on your room/apartment or house walls?

We have a taupe/brown color in most of the rooms. Our basement is gray. Our dining room and my office are green. My kids rooms are blue and green.

If you could design a new brain for yourself, what would it be like?

I cannot speak for the group, but I vote anyone. We just want it to stay in this forum as some bipolar members do not use the other forums.

In 4th grade we had our recess taken away for banging our desks around. After they found out it was a rare small earthquake we got extra recess the next day.

Have you ever been in a tornado?

I haven't been in a tornado. But there's one in "The wizard of oz."

Have you ever seen any kind of a bear in person?

Oh yes. Black bears and grizzlies. I used to live in Montana.

Have you ever seen an armadillo? (I haven't)

I have not seen an armadillo - that would be neat though

Have you ever experienced racism, sexism, ageism, classism or sizeism, from a healthcare professional who was treating your bipolar disorder?

From a healthcare professional, I am not sure. I will say that I felt a bit like one past psychologist acted superior. Little things she said and did. My long-time psychiatrist also has a slight air of superiority, but not to a degree that makes me feel inferior. Pdoc has suggested that I lose weight in the past, but that seemed most focused on my health. Once when I lost a lot of weight, he even said to stop losing weight.

I have definitely experienced ageism and sexism in my life, but not from healthcare professionals. The ageism has been clear because I am almost 13 years younger than my husband. Sexism has seemingly come with that, on occasion. Even from women to me, a woman. [For example, my husband being asked what he does, but not asking me.] I have also witnessed clear cut stigma against mental illnesses. As for racism and sizeism, I never, personally, experienced that too much, but have sadly witnessed that from others towards others. Well, maybe my husband's family have made slight comments about my past size. "Soupe, how about I give you my size X jeans since they are too big for me now." They also say stuff to my husband, like "You look 9 months pregnant." [Hubby has a beer belly.] Sizeism is sometimes hard to read, though, especially even with comments like "Oh, now you look much thinner!" Is that a compliment or the opposite?

Has a mental healthcare provider ever seemed too fond of you, in an uncomfortable way (flirting, too motherly/fatherly, too friend-like)?

My psychologist told me she loved me. Not hitting on me. Very sweet and unprofessional. Loved her.

Other stories like this?

one of my x therapists used to make me peppermint tea.

I always found it strange. rather than use the session to talk about feelings or work on stuff, she'd make me tee and do me coppies of albums on cd.

she used to play passenger by iggy pop all the time. I don't know why, but their you go. music and tea in the therapy office.

how much do you know about your own countries history?

Not very much, I didn't listen much in history lessons

music and tea in a therapists office, never had either of those
(sounds like she might have been trying to be friendly. Did you see her for long?)

How long did you talk to your favourite therapist for? (months/years etc) Why did you like (love?) them?

14 years and counting. I like him because he is straightforward and supportive and kind, yet he doesn't let me get away with stuff.

Do you struggle with change?

no not really. I think change is good because it means life is moving forward (either in a good or bad way)

their were a few issues as a kid. I remember one time where my parents couldn't look after me (because they were drunk), I was put up with this strange woman who I didn't even know

at bedtime, I noticed that her bed was white. pillows were white, covers was white, matress was white.

I came in to the lounge and through a real tantrum.. where's my red bed clothes (with some other choice words thrown in)

but I suppose all children do that from time to time, and it was a traumatic time.

since my diagnoses, I can't really think of anytime where I've resented change. like I say, it can be good

how many times did it take you to get the correct diagnoses. first time lucky?, or were you miss diagnosed

It's about 20C.

Are you less patient, or a bit more prone to irritability than you were say, 20 years ago?

I'm just about the same as I've always been since I was a baby. I'm pretty patient. Maybe to my detriment.

Does it bother you very much if someone cuts in front of you when you're in line?
