My parents gave us kids (or really more specifically, my brother) a Commodore Vic 20 computer. If many saw it they'd laugh. It was one of the earlier PCs. I remember my brother managed some kind of email type account and him showing it to me. At that time, the only people that mostly had such capability were those in the military or at universities. Bro was excited to communicate with people, using that medium. He also had video games he played on it. I forget the name of a particular one he played, but it was much more sophisticated than others, at that time. He thought he was great at it, but then I tried playing a few times. I attained a much higher score than him (I must have maybe been 10 years old), and that drove him crazy. He then played that stupid game day and night until he beat my score. Then he made a big deal about it. He was like that with many things. For example, I was better than him at badminton, so he would then "joke play" as a way of pretending he "wasn't trying". He's 5 1/2 years older than me. I do love the dude.

Is there any kind of game (any sort) that you are pretty good to very good at playing?

Soup, my brother also had a Vic 20! I remember it was fun to follow the directions and program it to do something simple.

I'm good at word and trivia games but haven't played either in a long time.

If you could go on a trip would you choose a cruise or a cabin in the mountains?

Cabin in the mountains for sure

Have you ever tried a weighted blanket? Do you like it?

no. I tend to avoid anything with the word "blanket" in the title. I just don't like them for some reason (possibly because I like my body to breav) which also explains why I don't wear sweaters or anything that traps my arms.

if you had a chance to go on a tour of a famous movie set or tv set, would you?. and which one?

edit: a pig in a blanket is diffrent as that's food.

It's an old one (1970), but the movie "Little Big Man" starring a young Dustin Hoffman is my favorite. It portrays Native Americans in a sympathetic light...which was rare back in the day.

What is your favorite month?

Between 10 and 11 pm.

On a scale of 1-10 (10 being most depressed), where to you think your depression sits at this moment?

This is a tough question because I'm a big reader and I have different favorite authors for different genres. I'd say James Patterson is my favorite when I want to read a fast paced thriller.

Do you enjoy cooking?

not really.

I don't hate it (it's an essential skill), but I'm not very good at it
do you have takeout more than 1 time in a week?

In recent months, yes, because of of our moving situation. During usual times, perhaps not more than once, that often. I guess at least once.

What type of "convenience" do you indulge in most often?

Generally speaking it’s been eating out rather than cooking. I recently adopted a whole food plant-based diet so this will change. Have you ever made a life changing decision and had the confidence to know that you would succeed?

I recently made one. My husband and I sold our house in the United States and moved to his native country of Czech Republic, in Europe. I will need to drastically improve my Czech language skills, and adjust slightly to the different culture. I won't say that it won't be difficult, but I am confident that it will work out. It sort of has to. Having my husband's supportive family within a somewhat short distance will be helpful. My husband also has many friends from the past here. I guess one added challenge is that we're middle-aged. I think it is usually easier for youngsters.

What was something you did that required a great deal of determination?

Oh yeah. Basically to not do self destructive things, but here I am self-destructing 80% of the time.

Do you do anything to track your moods like keep a chart or a journal or anything along those lines?

I was always resistant to doing a mood chart. Finally, to appease my therapist I did a written (on paper) mood chart. Surprise - it was really helpful! The chart also helped me keep track of how meds were affecting my moods.

Then I started doing the mood chart on this site. I entered the info at the same time every day & it worked out really well - until Healthline took over. Now the Mood Chart doesn't work anymore. Very disappointing. I haven't returned to the written one.

Do you have a walk-in closet in your home?

It's not designed to be a walk-in, but I'm that short that it is, lol. No it's not really a walk-in, but it's a nice long closet that's mostly empty because most of what we wear are house clothes that sit folded in the dresser. We can even fit a cat tree and a large suitcase, both of which our cat likes to sleep in, we have so few outside outfits.

Do you have things in your home that are a bit awkward, but they stay that way for a pet's comfort or enjoyment?
Thanks for this!

Yeah, myself. Also a really big cage. When she was a puppy she used to get and everything so I had to put her in a cage when I left. I hated that. And then one day I was at home and I look over and she’s just chilling in her cage. It’s a place of comfort for her so I leave it. But it’s big and it’s an eyesore. But my dog is adorable and I love her so it stays. Do you think low quality mental health services are better than no mental health services at all or do you think they have the potential of doing more harm than good?

poor treatment is defenetly harmful to someone's state. I've been in situations myself where I'd prefer no treatment to the poor excuse of treatment I am getting.

have you, or someone you know been let down by a mental health service?. what happened
