My INCOMPETENT treatment team is trying to destabilize me. I had a (6 minute) appointment last week where I said I needed Lithium and when I tried to pick it up two days after the appointment when I ran out, those ****heads claimed they never got the script so I have been out of lithium for the whole weekend and today I called and left two ANGRY messages today saying send over the ****ing script starting as soon as they opened. I called a third time and asked how often they check the refill request voicemails and she said it could take up to three business days. So I should've gotten it last Friday (when I ran out, days after I initially asked), but now it'll probably take until Wednesday or THursday.
This is why you have to skip doses to make a stockpile. Can't trust any of these mother****ers. If I didn't have restraint, I'd go down there and make a scene because the people deserve to know, the patients need to know what they're getting into, and the people that get you addicted and cut you off need to feel bad about their asshole-ishness for once in their ****ing lifetime.
My new nurse practitioner is a ****. Fresh out of a manic episode and she cuts me off from the med that treated me and gives me 6 ****ing minutes every three months. Ignored my complaints. I can't tell if this clinic is better or worse than the one where the doctors don't show up to their appointments and they don't do therapy so I may be making (yet another) switch soon.
I could probably get street lithium more easily. Maybe I'll start licking batteries.

I so understand your anger! Call again and tell them you HAVE to have your prescription!!! So outrageous. I've never heard of lithium being sold on the street, but if you know someone you can buy some off of just until your script comes in, do it.

Also, if your pharmacy knows you they will sometimes give you 2 days' worth of pills until your prescription is ready.

What incompetence! When you have the meds and are on stable ground again, do you think it would be worthwhile to tell those involved how profoundly this affected you? You can buy small lithium batteries at the local grocery or pharmacy . Good luck. I hope this is resolved soon.

Six phone calls, a PRN, and an hour out in the snow later and I FINALLY got the lithium!!!!!!!! There is a chance the nurse will want me IP tomorrow based on some voicemails I left, but hey, gotta do what ya gotta do.

I couldn't get a couple days worth of it because since my last Rx the dose was raised and my last pnurse sent it to the wrong pharmacy (that I will never go to again, I'll spare you THAT rant...) It's ridiculous the hoops we have to jump through and the tape we have to cut. I am certainly going to be looking for a legitimate psychiatrist not affiliated with this mental health center. An old pdoc (****ing AWESOME guy, notices everything, very understanding, was only my pdoc for a couple months of IOP like two years ago) mentioned a guy who is good with bipolar **** who I stumbled across on my insurance's website. Long wait list though, but I'll probably get switched pnurses by the time I get in anyways. This kind of experience is flipping unacceptable for me. I can't be scolded when I stop a med that I'm allergic to and also feel like I was intentionally cut off while be in a vulnerable spot. I know Hanlon's razor and all, but my gut still says these ****ers don't have good intentions. I also can't wait to switch therapists. I don't want to have casual conversation with the most boring person in the world for 20 minutes every two weeks and pay for it as "treatment." If I'm getting therapy, we better do the ****ing work!
So, yeah, I wish my PCP could prescribe my meds and do my risperdal shot but I already asked and it's "I don't have the knowledge of psych meds." I should've offered to teach him, but this poor fella didn't even know prazosin could be used for nightmares and propranolol for akathisia.

Had to look up Hanlon's Razor Sounds extremely apt for your situation! We are here to listen to your soap box, yes? I'm so glad you got what you needed. Finding the right care is extraordinarily difficult. The only advice I can give is do not give up looking no matter what. I've learned that, when it comes right down to it, if we have been in the system long enough, we are the only ones who understand what we need. Finding a pdoc and therapist who recognize this and can work with us is the key, and it's not easy. I wish you luck and please check in as you move forward!

The injection nurse today told me I was calling the wrong number and that I should've called her instead of the med refill line because she can get a hold of my pnurse!!!!

So Sorry that you had to go through this! i agree with the other wise and wonderful posters about this seeming really difficult. It seems clear that you did the best you could given the cirumstances. Calling the wrong phone number can happen unfortunately. Happy to hear that you were able to get what you needed at least. Seeing a new doctor may be a good option if you want to.
