The weather doesn't like to be defined. "Kansas Weather" is unpredictable as all can say. But there is sunlight right now. But then there will come a point which the bitter chill makes all sort of depressed and like a defeatist. It's coming to the point in which it's a little bit less like you gonna sweat your *** off being outside and we're gonna turn on the heater. I live in Tornado Alley.

What's the song you equate with kissing?

First one that came to mind is "If You Were Here" by Thompson Twins. This song was played at the end of the movie "Sixteen Candles" when actress Molly Ringwold kisses her crush over her birthday cake with burning candles.

What birthday was your favorite, and why?

Probably my 16th birthday because I got my driver's license.

Has anyone ever thrown you a surprise party?
Thanks for this!

I've never had a birthday party nor a party for any reason in my life.

What is the strangest thing you've ever been given?

My grandmoter once grabbed some underwear from a bin in a store that sells a lot of seconds. I was so excited to have CareBear underwear as we didn't get things with characters. When I tried to put them on they only had one leg hole.

Do you like staying in hotels/motels?

Eh, it’s ok. I’d rather be home. When I was oh,…14 I think. My family went to Washington DC and we stayed in a hotel that was passed it’s glory days, but it was one of the coolest hotels I’d ever been in. Huge rooms, huge Victorian tubs, colored walls instead of white, a cage elevator. It’s too bad all hotel/ motels look pretty much the same now.

What’s your favorite ice cream topping?

Peanut butter. Plain vanilla ice cream with a large spoonful of peanut butter. Other peanut butter varieties are nice, but that's just a comfort food for me!

What was a time your first impression of someone was wrong in a good way?

My first impression of my former wife was that she was a crazy person. Since we met in a mental hospital, that was a safe bet. We were together 18 years...and things stopped working. I have to remember some of the good times, too, though. I think it's too easy to vilify 100%. I could have left at any time, I guess.

What was the first album/casette/CD you ever got? (Note that the question is written by an old person).

My first records were hand me downs from my big sister, 45’s (small records with a big hole)[also written by an old person, 😊] I remember earth angel and a Vietnam song. The first one I bought was Snoopy VS the Red Barron. It was about snoopy flying high and getting that red Barron, ha 10, 20, 30, 40 or more that’s all I can remember.

Do you like going to the movies or do you prefer to watch at home? If at home big screen or little screen, tv or computer?

I much prefer watching at home, because I like to talk with friends during movies, and people hate that in the theater.

At home, I sometimes watch on TV and sometimes on the computer when I do a teleparty with online friends. My TV is not that big, maybe 27 inches. Size doesn't matter much to me.

Do you remember the first movie you saw in theaters? What was it?

Bambi, I cried so hard when his mother died. 🦌 The inside of the theater had a castle wall and scones and a balcony it was magical.

How old were you when you had your first celebrity crush? Who was it?

Keanu Reeves, we watched Speed and I think I was around 9.

What celebrity do you believe you sort of seem like or look like?

I’ve been told much of my life I look like Delta Burke in her Designing Women days.

Who do you think is the best all time actor or actress?

Tom Hanks? At least I know that I'll always like what he is in.

If you were to name a child right now what names would you use?

My husband and I always liked the names Nora and Emily, for a girl. For a boy, we'd likely have gone for Martin Jr. At least all of these names have Czech versions (are Czech, too). My name doesn't. Czech mothers like to often name their daughters after themselves, which I find strange, as an American. I wouldn't. Another difference is that middle names are uncommon in Czech Republic. They used to have them a long time ago, but that practice stopped.

Do you like your name?

No. My actual name is too feminine for me so I typically go by Sam or my trail name.

Do you like pumpkin coffee? Have any yet?

Never could get into that particular craze. Hazelnut coffee, on the other hand.

Do you have espresso coffee on the regular?

What hot drinks do you like?

I detest coffee every time I drink it (from the machine at home). I like some hot teas like Lavender Camomile - that one totally helps my symptoms out in that I do not experience them often. I also like White Chocolate Peppermint, yogi's Spicy Hibiscus Blossom Positive Energy tea, and some Chamomile Mint melatonin tea. I also like cappuccino that you stir into hot water or milk.

What do you prefer - sugary soda or diet soda? What age in life did you reason you enjoyed it that way?

I rarely drink soda anymore. I lost the taste for it and know it's bad for me. Maybe one or two cans per month, but I drank a bit more when I was younger. I've mostly chosen diet sodas since maybe 14 years old. When drinking regular, I feel like I'm drinking a whole sugar bowl. I only really drink regular when my stomach is upset or on the rare occasion I want something that isn't always available (everywhere) in diet form. It's nice that diet sodas are getting tastier than they used to be. Coke Zero is much better than Diet Coke, as an example. I do love many sugary things, but prefer them in pastry or cookie form.

What habit or food have you given up (or limited) over the years?

I gave up caffeine in 2007 because I was using it to elevate my mood and it wasn't working well. I've not had a single caffeinated beverage in 15 years and don't miss it (except that high. And cherry coke.)

Do you wear hats?

I love hats, have all sorts except baseball hats and cowboy hats. Those are too common. I like real hats. I have a really nice red fedora and an Australian outback hat that people have tried to buy off me. Never had a pillbox though.

Yesterday was fall here in the northern hemisphere are you glad?

Very. Do you do anything to mark the seasons changing? (Ex, I'm changing out my wreath to a fall theme.)

Yes, I have decorations for each season (like your wreath) and I change them out. I also change out my teas. Random for sure.

Do you celebrate the Equinox?

No celebration. Just noting it on my calendar.

Do you have an old item (10+ years old) you still get a lot of use out of?
