Have you ever made a friend in IP that lasted outside the hospital?
Some definitely no, a couple sorta yes, but one of that couple more so. As for the latter, one guy was more met in a partial hospital outpatient. I socialized with him into the future at AA. Also, he worked at the local grocery store where I saw him weekly. When I visited the US in April, I saw him again, but we don't keep in touch now. Another had too severe of alcoholism to continue the friendship. He grew too amorous, as well. As for one that ended very badly, she did something that made me fear for my husband's well-being because of a lie. That's a major no-no in my book, plus I was also still very unwell with bipolar. I pretty much scared her away from the IOP. When ill, I can get rather scary, unfortunately. To boot, she stole something from me.

Is there anything shareable you'd want a "redo" on in life?

I'd want a redo on not ditching completely the guy I met at college when I was 18. I broke up with him but we stayed friends. Something happened when I was 20 and I was with him (nothing violent...) but it changed so much (sorry this is vague) On the other hand, everything would have been so different that I would never have met Papa bear. So I guess the answer is I wouldn't want a redo on it (I hope this makes some sense)

Do you have a big heart? (emotionally I mean, not physically)

Yes- very, very much so, until my radar senses certain behaviors that trigger me. Then I tend to strike out like a tiger, all claws extended (unless I'm dealing with children and animals; I never strike out at them). I put a lot of work into modifying my temper; it's gotten better, but still not to where I'd like it to be.

Do you know how to ice skate?

When I was a child I did take ice skating lessons and could go around the rink and stuff (nothing fancy like figure skating). However, when I tried it as an adult it was much tougher. Now that I am middle-aged, obese, and out of shape, I don't think I could do much. When I tried roller skating, I could only do a couple of laps around the rink before I was exhausted. And as a child I could do it for over an hour.

Question: Is there anything you could do as a child that you can no longer do?

Run, walk a long way. Ice skating, gymnastics, a handstand, a cartwheel 🤸*♀️

What’s your favorite sandwich and where did you eat it?

The best sandwich I ever had was on Sanibel Island in Florida. It was a turkey sandwich with cranberry salsa and it was amazing. Expensive but amazing.

Good question so Same question

So many sandwiches to choose from! The best one in recent memory was a "redneck" version of a Cubano that this middle of nowhere Missouri diner was serving. Same basic preparation, but with a ham steak for the meat and BBQ in there with the mustard. I really liked it!

What's your go to meal when you don't want to cook or prepare anything?

Peant butter and raspberry preserves sandwich on white bread. Or for something more savory, a BLT. For something more evil, a vanilla cream filled Long John donut with confectioner's sugar dusting.

Describe your ultimate "relaxing environment" and any other details.

I have a vague memory of a lady that lied about everything. Once I caught on that everything was exaggerated or an outright lie I just ignored her and she went away.

If you could live anywhere where would you live? What kind of housing? A house a condo, big small, country, city, where in the world?

Definitely a house. I owned what was sort of a condo in the US and wished it wasn't because I wanted more room between our home and neighbors. Also, the homeowners association management company acted like mafiosos. They wanted to put the screws to everyone and even made threats. Hubby had to even take them to court once. We weren't in low cost housing, but they also managed some in NJ. I imagine they abused the residents in them even worse. Horrible! As for location, I like the best of both worlds. Being near a city, but living in our near the country. I would rather live in a country where English is the official language.

Soupe forgot to add a question, so I'll answer yours again, Nammu.

Where would I live...that's a tough one. Well, sort-of tough. I would live in a city. And I would have to be financially very secure, because being poor is bad enough, but being poor in a city is a real misery. Plus, if I was wealthy I could travel and if I could easily travel I'd travel to Ireland and to the UK. And on occasion, to NYC.

Really, I suppose I'd live in either Sacramento, where I came from, or I'd live in San Francisco. I suppose I'd choose SF because I could go to the ocean almost any time I wanted to. So which neighborhood. I'd likely choose the Haight-Ashbury district - which is not the kind of place, anymore, it's most famous for. After SF's dark days during the '70's (much like NYC's) the Haight-Ashbury District was pretty much entirely renovated. The homes/townhouses/flats there now are so beautiful (and crazy-expensive) and the businesses are fun & creative. Coffeehouses, bookshops, unique boutiques. The houses are creatively decorated, furnished beautifully, and so on. And that neighborhood borders Golden Gate Park, which is very lovely and also has fabulous museums & sights. And events. Also, the H-A District is very close to the ocean.

Question:
What special place do you like to visit whenever you have the chance?

Not sure I fully understand your question. For me, food is for enjoyment, nutrition and health, and energy. I most enjoy eating healthful foods, not that I don't occasionally eat some less healthful ones. I'm totally mad about vegetables. A huge pile of grilled veggies makes me so happy. Kinda like a cat seeing a whole salmon (with their name on it) or a bear a bowl of honey topped with fresh raspberries. I never really met a vegetable I didn't like. The only one I'm so-so about is okra, but prepared right even that tastes good. Some of it is just me, but some also that my parents raised me to appreciate them.

What food(s) do you refuse to eat that aren't too very exotic?

Fuzzy, what is tripe?

My favorite fish is salmon, although I sure did enjoy the fish n' chips I ate in Dublin. Those fish are huge! They hand you a dish and the fried fish hang over the sides of the dish. It's fun.

Q: What would be your perfectly ideal weather to live in?

Tripe is the name of the edible lining of the stomach of a grazing animal (usually a cow, can be a sheep, deer etc)

A cool autumn day, hoodie or sweatshirt weather

favourite food (non vegetarian)?

Chicken stir fry? I eat meat but few of my favorite foods are meat. I'm kinda lean towards vegetarian without trying. If I didn't live with my mom I'd rarely eat meat (also I can't afford it!)

Do you dress up for Halloween? (I had a much better question when I started typing and forgot it totally!)

Used too but now my fancy dress is limited to a headband with ears on it. This years are cat ears.

If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would you choose?

That's an easy one. I'd spend the whole day with my daughter and son, doing anything we wanted to do together. Maybe we'd start with lunch somewhere, then perhaps we'd drive around the neighborhood where they grew up, and the school they attended K-8. We'd talk all about their childhoods. We'd go to a lovely park nearby and watch the ducks in the pond (apparently, people are no longer supposed to feed the ducks). We'd just talk and talk, and give each other loads of hugs and we'd hold hands. I love to hold their grown-up hands. Then we'd go to dinner at a fine restaurant to celebrate each other.
That would be my perfect day.

Q:
What is your very favorite memory of 6th grade?

Making a camp in and around one of the trees in the playground.

Did you learn a musical instrument at school?

Yes, I learned to play the violin in elementary school. When I was a bit older my sister payed for me to take guitar lessons. I loved learning guitar, and although I stuck with it as long as I could there was a problem with my finger tips. The steel strings cut into my fingertips, causing them to be slashed up and sore all the time. I don't know how guitarists manage that issue.

Q: Did you have a May Day festival at school and decorate the "May Pole"?
