I am so cold lately! I have hypothyroid so that can't be it. I was at my mom's yesterday with goosebumps and couldn't get calmed down until I was under the covers with my hot water bottle. That is such a glorious feeling! It's about quarter-to-seven right now. I suppose I could get ready for bed and read for a while. That might work.

Hypothyroid does cause feeling cold.

I've been procrastinating on two things. I made a deal with myself over the weekend that i would tackle one of them today but i didn't make any progress with either of them today and tomorrow i won't be able to get to them. There WAS a big snowstorm today, that was my excuse. Other than a little tidying in the kitchen i didn't get anything done. I feel really bad about how lazy i am. It's the depression, of course and the weather but i'm still disappointed in myself.

Ok your hair. Splat is actually a fabric dye and other than initial wash out it will over time mess up hair. I don’t know if you know who Brad Mondo is.. he’s on YouTube under “ ask a hair dresser” Love him and he’s funny. Anyway he came out with his own line of colors. Most every color will work on darker hair. Everyone reports that it’s non damaging and smells delicious. Just a thought. Maybe check out a few videos.

Aha! That’s why splat stains and bleeds so bad. I checked out xmondo colors, I’m just afraid it might be too vibrant? I’m really not sure how work, and by that I mean my sergeant supervisor, will react if it’s bright. My coworker has blue and purple streaks but they’re just streaks. I guess I could order it and do a test on a small strand that I can hide if need be. Since it’s semi permanent and has no developer it can be saved I think. I can always use it in the summer like I usually do.

Thanks for the recommendation!

There are times when I feel I'm on way too many meds, but I've been remarkably stable for quite some time on my cocktail. I take 6mg Vraylar, 20mg Trintellix, & 500mg Depakote ER twice a day. I might be killing my liver, but I can't argue with the mental health results. There are also times when I wonder if it's really the meds, or if I'm just experiencing the "natural order" of things. It's so hard to tell.

I am taking the fewest meds in my life.

I had gotten psychotic getting off geodon and situational stress,
mother in law died, cat had cancer and it grew out of her back. hubby was unable to take her in to be put to sleep so I did it. Her name was hattie.
Jeff dug a big hole for her when I came back. It was terrible.
I was hospitalized for one month and they finally got me stabilized on haldol 5mg twice a day,150mg of lamictal twice a day then cogentin to prevent TD from the haldol. she allows me to keep the klonipion for sleep.
And I have some PRN meds if I need to take them, zyprexa and requip if I get restless legs from the zyprexa. and then I have remeron to take for sleep if I need it. I rarely take a prn.I took 2 the other night when I could not sleep and had restless legs. they work well. I am sleeping in the other room due to Jeff does want to get covid from me.
sorry that was a long response. I am glad that my provider is so easy to get along with. She is a nurse practitioner with psych credentials.

I totally understand this, HALLIEBETH! It's good you're looking into this. I've dealt with bruxism (mostly daytime) off and on my whole life and it has taken its toll on my teeth. A couple years ago, an endodontist who did two root canals on me (because of bruxism) said some of my teeth were as worn down as much as people in their 70s. At the time I was 48.

I legit just discussed thyroid issues and a dentist appointment on here and got zero responses or support besides from Beth and bizi. What gives? What does it take to get some support around here for the same exact issues other people are going through?

Unfortunately, an additional medication was pretty much forced on me today by my psychiatrist. I was honest and told him how I've been struggling with some irritability and agitation, lately, and a kinda sorta type of anxiety. Not the "fear" type of anxiety, but sweating and racing heart type where you feel like you're skin is covered with potentially biting spiders. All of this is not 24/7, but seems to show up at times throughout most days. I told him I was taking Ativan (lorazepam) prn a lot. His idea was to prescribe a medication that I've heard of, but never tried. Lyrica (pregabalin). I know I've read of people with bipolar disorder taking this med. I guess not so much for moodstablization, than for this anxiety type irritability/agitation. I looked it up and it seems to be an anticonvulsant, perhaps something in the realm of gabapentin (Neurontin)? In any case, he only prescribed 50 mg per day. We'll see. I told him I was reluctant to take another med, but promised to ask my husband what he thought. Hubby said to try it. So I am. If anyone has taken Lyrica (pregabalin), please do share any experiences.

When I went to the pharmacy to have the Lyrica filled, I pulled out my wallet, but the pharmacist said "It's free." No copay. What????!!!!!! I had Hubby act why it was free, thinking maybe it's a "free trial". But the pharmacist said that the Czech national health system is still struggling to figure out how to enter it into their system (or something like that). In the meantime, it's free. Good deal! My psychiatrist said they also use Lyrica for neurological pain. I'm not sure if my sore left foot, these past three or four months, has been neurologically-induced, or more some other kind of inflammation. But it would be nice if the Lyrica helped that, at the least.

Today after my therapy, we went to a Czech museum of gypsy culture and history. It was interesting. We were the only people there. Then we went to a lunch. We had a 1,000 czk ($47) gift coupon for the restaurant. It was a gift from the Optical shop that I got my two pairs of glasses from. Glasses are HUGELY expensive here. They cost 27,000 czk ($1,257) for the two pairs. They are extremely nice ones, and have multifocal lenses. I guess the least they could do was give us a nice lunch. Then on to my psychiatrist's office. He was late by 25 minutes. I confess I was very irritable when he finally took me in.

My cousin who is also bipolar was on lyrica and said it helped with her back pain. I’m not sure of the reason she was put on it but what she continued to take it for was the back pain.

I have a uti and thought I could get help though the online portal but all it did was say I needed to be seen and that there were no openings. So I call, was on hold for a long time but talked to a sweet nurse. She asked a few questions and then sent a script into my pharmacy. Yay. No dr appointment needed! I was hoping for that outcome!

Lyrica causes massive weight gain. Someone I knew gained 50 pounds on it pretty fast and was stuck with the weight.

@Nammu and @Mountaindewed, thanks for sharing about your friends' experiences with Lyrica. I did a little online research and saw that some can gain weight while on it. I don't panic about that, though. Not that med weight gain has never affected me. It has, but I have also been on plenty that said there was a possible weight gain side effect, but didn't for me. I'll just wait and see and act accordingly.

@Mountaindewed, I can locate your original post about thyroid issues so can't know exactly what you posted about. I'm seriously behind here. However, my thyroid has been shot for a good 10 years. It was first affected about 14 years ago. Lithium was mostly to blame, but hypothyroidism also runs in my family. No matter the cause, thyroid replacement medications (i.e. Synthroid) do a lot for many. With my Synthroid (levothryoxine) I'm perfectly fine. Yes, I'll have to take it for the rest of my life, but it's no biggie, for me. As long as you don't have some malignancy to be concerned about, I'll assume you have little to fear. For me, the thyroid damage from Lithium was small potatoes compared to my fear of my kidney damage from taking that med. If from whatever your situation with your thyroid is you have to take thyroid replacement like Synthroid, the most annoying part of that is having to take it on an empty stomach. The pill itself is itsy bitsy.

I have heard adults talk about their thyroid making them hungry and causing them to gain weight. Sometimes thats legit or sometimes thats just an excuse. For me my issue is the opposite. I am not hungry and am losing weight and I am tired and cold. So I'm not sure what the cause of mine is. I have only heard the opposite, loss of appetie, weight loss, happening with young kids. Not with adults. But I'm hoping to hear back about my blood work today. Plus I have some non covid viral infection I'm fighting too that is making me feel pretty miserable.

I've been having a lot of issues with deliveries and stuff which I get are covid and employee shortage related and stuff. But I've been having the most ridicilous time trying to deal with Amazon lately. My newest problem with them is I ordered a size small hoodie the other day, and it came yesterday, and they gave me an XL hoodie. I didn't see that it was an XL at first and then it came down to my knees and I was like "ok. I know a small can still be a bit big sometimes but not this big." Then I looked at the tag and it said XL. So I requested they send me the correct size and I returned the other one to the Amazon thing at Kohls. Lets hope they actually do it right and send the correct size

I don't see my pdoc until March but I need refills on my meds and I called the office yesterday afternoon and left a message and asked for a 3 month refill on all my meds. I got a message this morning saying they had called them all in. There was zero issue. This is why I stayed with this place even after I moved.

My stomach hurts so badly right now. I plan on taking some tylenol and just taking it easy. I had some Goldfish crackers and 2 Pop Tarts. My doctor didnt say to avoid soda or coffee but I guess maybe I should, its just the caffeine helps with the fatigue.
