Well now, as I have always tended to be a night owl and early bird combined! I have managed to add 600 words to a book I am almost finished writing. I can't wait for the editing-proofing to start... not

Excellent, well done for using your time productively.

It’s the middle of the afternoon but because I’m on nightshift I should be asleep. I was incredibly tired last night. So I really need to sleep.

I might go and eat something then try sleeping again.

I never fully woke up today. I slept all last night. I had coffee. Which I'm not supposed to but it was an iced creme matcha which aren't too bad. I took an hour nap. I can feel my exhaustion down to my bones. I'm hoping its still just med side effects and nothing else.

It’s 4:30am and I have to be up in less than 3 hours. I might be able to nap on the plane tomorrow.
I’m not really sure why I’m awake, I don’t feel my overly stressed normality is too bad, I’m just wide awake.
Hopefully I’ll get back to sleep soon.

Hey folks! I remember this thread!
It sounds like y'all are discussing all sorts of sleep issues though and not just insomnia. would that be an accurate assumption? I know I've posted here before. I had a couple of bouts of literal insomnia but mostly, I have trouble getting to sleep or getting enough sleep...or as my doctor likes to remember it as, too much sleep. He's even "diagnosed" me with hypersomnia/hypersomnolence. Basically though, my trouble was getting to sleep and sleeping through the night to get a solid 8hours (or 10?) or 5 hours straight sleep. I would sleep at 2am and wake up at 12pm. I would still wake up tired from all the times I woke up in the night.

Today, however, I've been aiming to wake up at 10am, no matter what (sickness stuff excluded). And so I aim to go to bed by 12am. Was working on this for like 2ish months. Have had mostly success (after like 2 years of getting yelled at to "get on a schedule [this schedule]"). Today was a super early morning and I couldn't sleep last night until 2am again due to excitement about hosting company today. I hope I can get back to the "schedule" again by tonight or tomorrow night.

What genre is the book you're writing? I'm also working on a novel.

Well, just about 4:30am here and I'm finally starting to yawn. I'm fairly certain my mother is going to be here in about four to five hours.

Yeah, I don't really think I'm "cool" myself, but I have been struggling with staying asleep in the mornings now because the sun is coming up earlier. Summer has done this for me for the last 10 or so years. It's when I did, in fact, suffer from insomnia. But I'm still getting at least 6 to 7 hours now. Not ideal for me, but it's still pretty good. Hopefully, it will stay. I really cannot function on little to know sleep. I really feel for you folks that struggle often! *hugs

The birds start chirping at 3AM. Those flapping bird ****ers need to shut up! Luckily our air conditioner is on now so I didn't hear them this morning!

Sleep has proved elusive. I go to bed between 11:30-midnight. Then by 1:30 2 am I’m awake and can’t get comfortable. I’m awake for a couple hours then I fall asleep only to wake up at 7. Even if I was sleeping though the night and waking at 7 that’s not enough sleep.

I see my pdoc on Wednesday, I’m hoping to raise my ambien back to what it used to be. I really need some decent sleep.

I've been sleeping better at night and taking naps again after getting off a med that was causing partial insomnia. Last night was kinda rough and after exhausting all my music and other things I finally turned on a 2 hour brown noise and then I fell asleep pretty much instantly and I woke up past the 2 hours with no idea where I was, what year it was, or basically who I even was. Idk but it seemed to work as good as a sleeping pill. I'd only save it for emergencys myself. I've had good luck using brown noise before. Way better than white noise or rainforest sounds.

I slept good last night even though I barely ate all day and took a 2 hour Iong nap yesterday afternoon. Clearly something isn't right with me though.

I've been having the same 2 dreams the last number of nights. I can guess why I'm having them.

One of them involves me having my gallbladder or something removed. I'm guessing maybe I'm feeling the pain in my sleep?

The second dream is where I'm going international grocery shopping. Which I really want to do one of these days. Take a trip to Canada and check out their Walmart. I've been asking my mon for awhile to take a trip there.

i've been falling back into my sleep at 2 or 3am and wake at 12:30pm pattern. it's cuz people here stay up late, and as host, i want to make sure everything is taken care of at night...also, i like to spend my time online in those late night hours. Not the best idea, but i don't get to check in as much during the day.
the whole reason for this bad pattern though was because I've been sick and now I'm on period. like, i can't afford to sleep less...hopefully tonight, i can sleep early cuz we're planning to go to the carnival by like 12 or 1pm tomorrow. eek

I had that same gallbladder dream again and I didn't sleep good. But I did finally find the piece of music I've been trying to find for years. Its actually from several SpongeBob episodes and its called Untuned. Its just music. Not any words. And only 25 seconds. I tried finding it in 2016 or so but the only google result that came up was some other guy looking for it too. So it helped me fall asleep the first time and it got me back to sleep at 4.
