Maybe the med is allowing your depression to lift so you can see your life without that darkness over it, so you're able to move through the grief better.

It's been getting worse and worse, Christina. 4 or 5 weeks ago you said you weren't ready to make med changes. Maybe it's time to do some adjusting?

It's good that you spoke with her. I wish I could be more helpful, but my best advice is to advocate for an earlier appointment, if at all possible, and then be more assertive than you think you can be, if that makes sense.

Yes. It's so strange. I can understand getting a tiny bit of whatever done, but who talks these ultra-wealthy people into surgery that's so extreme they look terrible?!

I'm so sorry to hear about your sleep @Nammu. Do you have any ideas for a med, either prescription or otc?

It's interesting, because the word "chai" is the drink, of course. But in Hebrew the word "chai" (pronounced very roughly like huhkii) means "life." And in the Kabbalah the number for "chai" is 18.

@Mountaindewed, that's so odd about the Unisom. Sounds like it's not good for you. The only 2 times I tried Unisom it was a total waste. Didn't help me sleep, at all.

Whew, I finally got here! I can't figure it out. When I had a husband and 2 kids, and pets, and lived in a house with 2 or 3 bedrooms, I had plenty of work to do. Understandable. But here I am in a tiny apartment with just the cats and the chores never end. When the sun came out after those 3 weeks of hard rains I saw all the chores that needed doing. A head start on spring cleaning, I guess.

I'm so glad because the maintenance dude put a new a/c unit into the vacant apartment next door so now the entire long corridor is unobstructed (the old a/c stuck out from the wall kind-of far). That means I can skate all the way through without anything in my way. It's outside, so the perfect place to skate

.
What I need is to get back to aqua fitness and fitness. But getting up at 7 is hard when I don’t sleep. As for meds I’m doing the opposite and cutting my dose in half a couple times a week so that when I use the whole dose it works better.

Oh very cool info about chai!

Well, I e-filed my tax returns today. I used a web site referred by the IRS. The website was buggy, and incompatible with Safari on my iPad. So I used Firefox with some success. My dog ripped up the garbage bag, with garbage strewn everywhere. She did this when I was not there. Anything she can grab on the counter she does. I have to figure out a solution to this. I am doing better getting around with my walker, but it will be at least a few weeks before I may be able to forego the walker.

Yesterday I finally saw my new psychiatrist. She seemed nice, but unfortunately her English isn't nearly as good as my last psychiatrist's. There was also a problem getting me into the system. Not her fault, but the Czech government's. Just yesterday I got a new Czech ID. There was a switch to biometric IDs and they had to do something to reflect my surname(s) issue. We think that whatever they did is the cause of the problem, creating a miscommunication (or faulty linkage) with the national health insurance database. The hassle with my surname(s) seems never fully ending! The new ID does show both versions, though. Boo hiss!

Today we have no obligations. I do have to fill my pill boxes, though. We need to call my new psychiatrist to say that my E-recepty (electronic prescriptions) never reached me. The cause of this is uncertain, but another hassle. Could be related to the new ID snafu or as simple as her using the wrong cell phone number.

I’m so sorry. I’m feeling the weight myself. I do hope you feel better soon and catch a break from depression’s nasty grip.

A high of 58F today, but supposedly rain. And I must go to the grocery store. It's been at least 10 days since I last saw the inside of a grocery store. If the rain isn't a hard one the corridor will be dry enough for me to skate on.

I’m tired. And I feel awful about myself. And I don’t want to do anything but lay in bed and stare at the ceiling. I managed to get up and put the dishes away so I could wash the ones in the sink but discovered the cold water pipe is frozen again. Our hot water is too hot to handle alone so I have to wait for RS to get home and unfreeze the pipe with his heat gun before I can do them. So now I’m back to sitting on the couch and staring. There’s other things to do; clean up the living room, put away my clothes, wash my comforter, start getting soup fixings together…but it all seems too big.

I think maybe I can get the comforter into the wash. That’s not bad. Just have to bring it downstairs. I can walk down the stairs. Grab the barley for the soup on the way up. Then I’ve at least done something and I won’t feel as bad about laying in bed for a few minutes.

At least the SH thoughts have started to calm down in intensity. I got a bit worked up last night but picked up some of the living room to get the tension out since it wasn’t late yet.

I’m worried about mum. Yesterday when I went to visit her I found her in her nightgown still. She didn’t go to rehab or do anything.and she thought it was morning when it was 3:30pm

I talked to the nurse before I left and said this is how she gets when she gets a bladder infection. She gets ornery, confused and wants to be in bed all the time. But there’s nothing else I can do. Just go back later and check up on her.

I think a lot of it is psychological as her 95th birthday is in a couple of weeks and we went threw this last year too. She gets depressed and discouraged. Also her feet have swollen though her left one has gone down, it’s just more evidence to her that she’s dying. I’m no longer sure she’s coming home.

~Christina Hang in there! I have had little depression for a period of time now. This is unusual for me. I have ordered again from Amazon. I must stop this, emptying my wallet drop by drop. This time I ordered Chai Tea Latte. This will be delivered onthe same day, which is today.

I’m home watching New Amsterdam. It’s a hospital show with good storylines. Noah and I are taking my and his Christmas trees to my mom’s today at some point. Then we are going out to dinner. My friend that keeps scheduling after canceling has done this twice in recent weeks. Then of course he canceled last Sunday and rescheduled for this Sunday saying that he’d know better about his schedule by Thursday. He never updated me. I had to ask him today, Saturday, if we were still on for Sunday. His response was “Maybe in the afternoon.” Ugh, he has no sense how to commit to something and stick with it!

I got my blood test results back and my vitamin D is low. So literally every symptom I've been feeling for awhile can be traced back to that. The severe fatigue and taking a lot of naps, and feeling weak, and the feeling achy, and the mood swings and just in general feeling unwell. My doctor said to start a 1000mil vitamin D pill every day and that will improve my moods and fatigue.

So once again all my symptoms can be traced back to something medical. Yeah I can tell when something is legit off. I hope my therapist gives me a break about food since loss of appetite is also one of the symptoms even though the Unisom brought it up. I ate normally today though.

My birthday today is pretty much just a normal day. I got a few birthday wishes on Facebook. I've had the TV on all day and now I'm watching CNN about the balloon. My sister is coming over in a bit to celebrate my birthday. Shes bringing pizza and we have that ice cream cake we got yesterday.
