So they tell me I'm Bipolar II, I'm on meds and trying my hardest to deal with things. Now that I know I'm Bipolar... it's easier to know when I'm having an episode. But Knowing and handling an episode is ...harder said then done. At this momment I am depressed and angry. Little things are making mad and sad at the same time. I feel the need to cry and hit something. I just don't understand how to make these feelings go away...any advice?

hi there,
I am sorry that you are having to join the club here...yes it helps to explain certain behaviors and such...
I hope you are able to see a therapist. The above diagnosis/traumas that you have are a lot to handle by yourself.
Do you have family support?

I found A trick I use alot .I would put my mp3 player on at night as im going to bed the same songs every night after while I found that listing to this music during the day clam me down take me into a trans.Your brain must relate the music after awhile to your sleep pattern I for get what it is call. But it as gotten me out of some really bad places sometimes you need to escape from your self and this seems to work for me.

I use music as well to help maintain some resemblance of control, Though some times it does back fire on me. I some times too find just going for a walk while listening helps, esp. if I am in a exceptionally down mood. Though it is difficult at times to force myself to do that.

I will also watch a good movie, one where the hero has had the snot kicked out of them, and they rebound to save the day. While I realize it is just a movie, I put myself in the hero's shoes. Some times that helps me when I am extremely down and angery.

One last trick I used to be able to do when I was actually able to still work and worked as a cook, I would walk into the walkin freezer, close the door and just yell at the top of my lungs.

Above all relay how you feel to your therapist,

Dear tina,
I too would suggest that you talk to your therapist.
Have you ever journaled?
this can help to get your emotions out on paper...and also chart the progress that you are making.
some times we need a safe place to verbalize what we are feeling, to help make sense of the maddness of the past...you too can free the demons that plaque you.
write vent /keep posting...we are hear to listen and care.
((((HUGS))))
