Hi,
I had a really bad day. All I could hear was that I wasn't good enough to do anything in my life by so many people. The pain was too much for me today so I took a razor and cut my face up. I wanted to be a pilot when I was a teenager and everytime I talked about it my Father told me I wasn't smart enough to be a pilot. I am been told I am not good enough, you won't make anything of your life, you are not responsible enough to be a therapist or psychiatrist by my own psychiatrist. ![]() |

I'm really sorry. I understand, recently I bruised my face up pretty bad. I haven't cut in years, but started self hitting when I was 19 and at nearly 23 it's still something I struggle through. Thinking up lame excuses like "I got in a fist fight. Yeah I may have these bruises, but you should see the other girl's face." to cover my shame has really gotten old.
I do it because I'm so hurt, angry, disappointed, ETC. My feelings overwhelm me. I've been told that I'm being manipulative, but I'm not. I simply can't express my frustration any other way without hurting someone or breaking something. |

I try my hardest not to break stuff, cuz that usually leads to further meltdowns on my part. but self hitting, biting, ETC are the unhealthy ways in which I come when I am overwhelmed. and I think I do it more lately cuz I'm clean. I can't drink my sorrows away. It's nice to know I'm not alone. |
