Okay, now that you're done ranting.... Please remember that anger/ranting/venting can often make pain worse. The chemicals that dump, the muscles that respond, etc. all can cause increased pain.

I often "hear" my pain T's words whenever I'm inclined to actually become angry.... it's "not in my own best interest".

Anger is often like worry, it does little good and does a whole lot bad.

I know my own anger often results out of not being in control. I mean, because of my disability I am unable--sometimes both physically and mentally unable--to do something I would have normally been able to. First inclination is always to become frustrated. I pretty quickly move on to "allowance" of my inabilities, and that helps a whole lot!

Sorry you're in pain ((Crew)). Since I don't know your history - can you explain what kind of pain you have. Good advice from JD. Are you able to do minimal exercise like water aerobics?

I am able to swim long distances but unable really to do water aerobics. However, I do swim a little bit compulsively but that is better then doing something else that hurts the body.......

I am unable to get all this having babies fat off! I have a fusion in my L4, L5, and L6 I then have a plate that acts as my shoulder bone, can't think of what it's called

I also stretch, I am extremely flexible and stretching has been my best thing yet.

Thanks for caring to ask!
your friend,
Crew

"flexible and stretching "

WOW those are 2 of the great things I've found that help me. With anything that hurts the muscles and/or skeleton, stretching works wonders. When I get into the pain mode, that is usually what I find helps me the most. But of course, I learned how from either going to Physical Therapy or from my training as a massage therapist.

What is the pits for me is when the motivation is not there.

I come here for some of that sometimes too.

Keep being happy Crew. It helps the pain a lot.
Thanks for this!

Rant to your heart's content hon. The others are right about anger worsening pain, but some times we've just got to vent.
Thanks for this!

Crew,
I don't have much in the way of pain compared with others but I do have a few painful things, I won't go into here.

On my search for what works best I learned that stretching is good but hyper-extending is not okay. So, I had to pull back a bit. It actually made a difference in some locations, especially my shoulder.

Gus, I just really never thought of the snorkle idea. When I was told that swimming lengths was actually aggravating my body, I stopped I love swimming so that was such a loss for me. All the water fitness classes are during the day, that are close by so it was then up to me to go it on my own, so of course I didn't go. Bad Hunny. I was also worried about drying out my skin and of course my hair and there you go...all my excuses.

But, I like the idea of snorkle...now to overcome those fears from my mom saying those are dangerous but I'm sure with some instruction I can overcome.
