LettinGo, my friend's surgery literally changed his life! I have such high hopes for you!

I have discovered that gargling a cup of hot water with four tsp of salt in it will burn off anything in your throat! I think this will work, my friends! Of course my mouth tastes like I just ate a bag of extra salty pretzels...

*sigh* In addition to the flare that started last weekend, I'm coming down with another respiratory infection. One of the little darlings I work with came in hacking and sneezing all over my office last Friday. I sent him back to class and blasted my office with Lysol. Apparently it didn't work.

Being based in a school is tough. I'm exposed to every bug that comes around. I have been known to refer to the kids as walking petrie (sp?) dishes.

Gawd I hope this one doesn't grab me like the last one did.

Whoa! I gave myself permission to stay in the house and rest today hoping to get a handle on this bug and my flare. I ended up sleeping most of the day. For once I'm not berating myself for "wasting" the day. If I slept that much my body must need it.

I have a funny story about the little beast and his germs. After escorting him to another office to show him where he should turn in doctor notes I told him to go back to class. I then borrowed a can of Lysol from a co-worker. Walked back to my office, opened the door planning to spray everything in sight. There he sat in my office! I nearly blasted him. Told him, again, to go back to class. I soaked everything in sight with Lysol. I guess it didn't work.

When I got sick last time I kept forcing myself to go to work and try to plow ahead. I've decided this time that if I need to stay home to get ahead of this I will.

Oh Liz I know the feeling. When I worked it was like that now I just have hubby and the kids but savannah came over with a nasty cold coughing and sneezing on everything. I kept asking her to cover her mouth and she would say I am.

My ears feel better but now I am getting a cold

5 years ago my dentist put a temporary fix to a front tooth that had a cavity in the back. I couldn't afford to do anything else at the time.

Last night it broke off ... ( insert massive breakdown here) There is just a small amount of my tooth at the gum line , so that needs to come out.

I called my Dentist this am . the soonest he can fix this is tomorrow ( Tuesday)

So I am thinking that attaching a metal post into my jaw and all the fun stuff that is going to go along with it is going to really screw me up mentally and damn sure physically . Then there is the once its all done the pain and healing process.

So between having all this done and the fact that I really cant afford to deal with over 1000.00 + bill .. I am literally sick..

I am having a gigantic pity party for myself

Thanks everyone .. I did survive , many tears involved . But I adore my Dentist, He is amazing! He always makes sure that I am 100% numb.

I had braces twice in my life , so that results in the roots of your tooth to be significantly shorter than someone with out braces.

So he felt the best way to do something that will last my life time , was to build up what I had left of the tooth and turn the side tooth into needing a crown also . the back side will be bonded together so it will add mass amounts of added stability. It did wind up costing double what we had originally thought , But it was the best route to take .

The novacaine is wearnig off and my whole mouth is feeling sore , Not awful but its feeling rough .. Ugh..... so I go back the 17th to get the actual crowns , I have temp ones currently.

I feel like I have been physically been beaten up and my mind is just exhausted .

Im glad I got through the dental work today.

Gentile hugs !!!!

Nope nothing for pain. Advil has done an okay job.. But breaking the tooth off and the stress has caused a huge flair up. Im sitting at an 8.5 ! I am scheduled for a Lidocaine infusion in the am ( thank goodness) I do hope it can knock this pain back down, But I am worried that my pain being this high it might not. Bleh

I saw my T today and I have been dealing with some wicked anxiety for the past week, even before the broken tooth issue. I have no idea why this anxiety is so bad , no known trigger.. ???? Big fat "dunno" Klonopin isnt doing anything helpful .

So I am better in some ways but worse in others LOL I cant catch a break , well unless its a tooth HA ! Yeah I have got to find humor somehow someway, even if its sarcastic !

I hope all of you are feeling better and taking time to do what you need to do for you !!!!!

I will be making ground hog stew if Phil isn't correct this year

I posted in the pets forum about Kyoti (a horse) colicking last night. What I didn't mention there was how much pain I'm in. Basic treatment for colic in a horse is to walk them. We walked literally for hours. He dragged me around. Walked on me. Fell on me once. I only got a couple of hours sleep last night and kept waking up from the pain. I guess I'm lucky this morning that I'm so exhausted the pain is sort of sitting next to me. Gawd help me when the pain hits.

Added to the physical slamming around I took is the emotional toll. I'm going to have to have the vet back this morning to put Kyoti down. We've done everything we can for him and he is still in horrific pain. I'm preaching to the choir talking about how emotional upheaval triggers flares. I'm anticipating a whopper.

My new pdoc is taking me off Klonopin, which I've been on for years. Oh my. She said it would be hard and she was right. We have a new front coming through and I have the flare to go with it. Thank God for my meds for that. Thurs. I go to the dentist to have another tooth pulled and I won't have my usual Klonopin to help me get through it. Pray for me, please, dear friends.

Awwww Liz I have walked a gazillion miles with many of my horses and a few I had to say a sad farewell to. Take care of you

January Oh I cant imagine how much pain your going through, The stuff I have dealt with is so minor compared to your dental hell.. My heart goes out to you.. Is your Doctor bringing you off it on a taper schedule? Is the Klonpin being replaced with something ? I would at least get enough K's to get you past the dental stuff.

Cake I hope your doing well. I worry about you hun

Everyone take great care of yourselves

I agree- you should be allowed a klonopin to get through the dental. Can you talk to your doc about it? You should be able to have some for the rest of your teeth. Thinking of you

(((((Sending hugs and good thoughts to everyone)))
My DID system has changed and I am no longer front person, so the now-front person doesn't remember to come in here. If that makes any sense. So anyway, I'm here for the moment and wishing you all well. *I* think about you all and care about you!

I fell last night - missed the chair (having some spatial issues on my meds) and to keep myself from falling and hitting my head on the low table, I threw myself forward... many twists and turns trying to right myself, but still ended up on the floor. Nothing broken, just strained and bruised. That's my bitty update

Miss you all!

She is tapering me off the Klonopin. Today I go down another one half pill. She knows about the dental work but doesn't want to give me extra for it. I guess I'll take the whole day's worth at one time, which won't be as much as the old regular dose, when it comes time to go to the dentist.

A friend talked me through a day of sheer terror the other day so I could go out to a birthday lunch with my brother. It made no rational sense; I was just that afraid. My friend didn't make me feel ashamed, just like you guys make me feel comfortable, and that helped so much.

Thank you for caring.

I have moved out of the recliner and back in the bed to avoid the noise from the neighbor across the way. It causes pain, but it seems to reduce a little bit each night.

How are all of you? I think we need a roll call.

I'm here! Next.....
