So this is really just a rant

My daughter got bit by a dog yesterday morning at a dog park. A little girl was eating food and some big dogs jumped the little girl so my daughter went to push the dogs away and got bit pretty bad.

I get the call from her a**hole boyfriend I told her to go to the ER but she called her doctor and went to him. The a**hole boyfriend took her the doctor the doctor cleaned it out but the a**hole boyfriend would not get per antibiotics filled. The doctors office made her an appointment with a hand surgeon today.

I took her. I got there early because there are always papers to fill out. They took people in after we had arrived which kinda made me mad but ok. Finely they take us in and leave the door open. They take another girl into the other room and the other girl is thanking them for not making her pay her copay because you know she just got back from vacation and used up all her money.

So we thought the doctor would be right in but no he went to the other room. My daughter got up and went out to ask how much longer and they then told us that we were an "add on" and that the doctor had to leave by one pm. Her appointment was at 12:30 pm. The doctor walked in to the room at 12:55 pm looked at her bites asked if we did the X-ray and we said no because we were told they had an X-ray machine and that they would do it. He then responded to 2 different text messages. He was out the door by 1:01 pm.

Do I have a right to be mad? I am not taking her back to him I called her doctor and left a message for him. He's off today. But I kinda don't feel like we should not have to pay for the office visit. I also got her antibiotics filled.

(((( Cake))))
Yike! What a situation!!! I have no idea. It's likely a losing battle, but you can certainly make a complaint. Or call your insurance hotline.... Yes see a new doc. Get the rx. Hand surgeon?! Yike!!

it's a good thing thorns have roses~

Cake, dogs who are off the leash and would take food from a child, and bite the adult who tried to intervene need some serious 'counseling', and to be banned from the dog park,,, here, they kill dogs who bite a person.

and OMG ,, the Church of Doc strikes again~!! DEF file a complaint, but not with the doc's office, i learned the hard way, they are all in cahoots, cahooting all over patients' rights. call the AMA and file a neglegent treatment complaint.
please, for the sake of all his other patients who can't.

Child, I hope you feel better and that your pain lessens immediately. I hope you will talk to your pdoc or therapist or someone about how you're feeling. You are so valuable. Please take good care of yourself.

Cake, oh my gosh! I agree with Kiya and Gus. File a complaint with the AMA. I sincerely hope your daughter feels better and that you don't come out on the short end of the stick on this one.

I am going to the Dr's office tomorrow for my regular check up and I'm also going to see if they will call the specialist's office at the teaching university and see when I am to go there. The waiting is getting way old.

I am having horrible, shooting electrical fire down the outside of my thigh. I can only liken it to the pain of a dry socket. I looked up the symptoms and it's apparently a "whosiswhatsis" nerve. You know, one of those things you can't type, much less pronounce. I'm going to have to call my Pain Specialist and see if they can work me in somehow if I don't end up at the teaching hospital first. (We don't have an emotie for "writhing in pain" on here, but we should. Can anyone find one?)

Oh Jan I am so sorry. I hope you get relief and answers soon. I know about those pains try and not to stress.

You guys are right the "office manager" talked circles around me when she would let me sleep. My daughter went on yelp and face book and gave him very bad reviews and when hubby got home he wanted me to call the insurance company which I will but for the last 2 days I have been out running errorns and not getting home till late afternoon. Plus the cats got me up at 2:30 am yesterday I am very tired. So I will call the insurance company today. I also called her doctor and left him a message. He knows how bad her anxiety is and her panic attacks. This will make it harder for her to trust a doctor.

The other thing is I am going to receive something in the mail regarding our experience with this doctor. He's attached to our hospital and they always send out something wanting you to "rate" their doctor. I can't wait to get that paper.

Lord am I tired

Take care all Kiya and Jan keep us all posted.

Hugs to all

Oh I forgot to say I have been swimming 10 laps in the pool regardless if it's to cold or not. I used to try and do an hour but 10 hard laps and I am over and done with in about 10 minutes or so but at least I am trying right ?

Your guide to traveling with lupus or fibro or any illness really

Make a medication plan

Before it’s time to pack your bags, make sure you have more than enough medication to last the entire trip. You’ll also want an additional supply of any medication you take to manage flares, just in case something triggers your lupus while you are far from home.

Make sure you know the name and dosage of each prescription and carry copies of paperwork with your medication details. When you’re traveling, it is easy to forget to take your medication—you may want to use your phone to set medication reminders throughout your trip (just don’t forget to adjust for time zones).

Make sure your traveling companions ‘get it’

It’s best to be open with your friends or family in advance about what you may/may not be able to do. Make sure they know when you feel like you need to take a break—and what can happen if you don’t stop when you need to—so they understand how important rest is to managing your illness.

Know how much you will need to walk

Travel often involves a lot more walking and standing than you may be used to, and for someone with lupus this can be exhausting. As you plan your trip, you may want to talk to your doctor to make sure you are healthy enough to do all the activities you are planning to do.

Use sun protection at all times—even when you think you won’t need it

Many people with lupus have photosensitivity—which can cause rashes, fatigue, and other symptoms—when they are exposed to radiation from sunlight. If you’re going to spend much time outside during your travels, make sure you apply (and reapply) sunscreen, wear a hat with a large brim, and stay in the shade as much as possible. If your group is planning to lounge out at the pool or beach for a long time, you may want to take a separate room key so you can duck back inside early.

Prepare for your flight or long drive

Long periods of time spent sitting can be difficult if you experience joint or muscle pain. Some people with lupus are also at higher risk for developing blood clots when they sit too long. Try to stop for stretch breaks every hour during long drives and stand up and move around regularly during long flights.

Sneezing passengers and germs on airline seats and trays may also pose a problem for your immune system. To reduce your risk of getting sick, wash your hands often while traveling and clean your airline seat and tray with disinfectant wipes.

Take a rest when you need to

When you travel, make sure you strike the right balance between adventure and caution—don’t let lupus prevent you from having new experiences that you are healthy enough to enjoy, but also be careful not to compromise your health. There may be times during your trip when you need to sit out to give your body a break, but remember that resting when you need it will give you more energy for other activities later.

I went back to work Monday. Came home from work so exhausted last night I fell asleep on the sofa around 6, woke up around 9 and had something to eat so I could take my meds and crawled into bed. Slept until 8:30 this morning. Am still exhausted. Have barely gotten off the sofa today. I have a fibro headache and my whole body hurts. How the h e l l am I supposed to work if a four day week lays me out like this!

Gus, thank you for the beautiful roses. How lovely.

Liz, I'm so sorry you're exhausted. Rest all you can and maybe your pain will ease down. Let us know how you're doing.

Cake, thank you for the travel guide. It has a lot of points in it that I would have never thought of at all.

I saw my family Dr. today. She found out that I need to be at the specialist's office Aug. 9th at 9:00 a.m. That's not what I call asap and it's not what the ER Dr. expressed to me. My family Dr., bless her, gave me some good instructions on what to watch for in case things go crazy and I need to go back to the ER, but I hope that won't be necessary.

I now have a red butterfly rash on my face, so I've got to try to see my rhuemy before I go to the teaching hospital. I don't want to borrow trouble and maybe it's just a fluke.

I have to see if I can get in to see the Pain Specialist, too. I doubt that will be possible, but I won't know unless I ask.

I should get more info from the specialist in the mail tomorrow or Monday, so I'll share it with you if it's anything new.

You know I love you all.

A lot of issues out there! Support and hugs and good wishes. Thank you for updating us all!

EEG went better than expected, panic-wise, but still I hope that's the only one I ever do! I think all results are negative (or I would have gotten a call).
❤️💖❤️ Everyone

Jan if you still have the butterfly rash on your face take a picture of it yo show your rhemy.

Kiya I am glad it went ok. Those test can be stressful

It's 1:53 am and I am up because McGee was banging at my door to be let out. I was ptreet sick last night and left it to my son and hubby to let him out. My husband told my son to do it well no one did. So I have to get up to do it and then try to back to sleep. It's not happening.

Oh well. I hope everyone is doing alright.

Sending hugs to all

Kiya, it's so good to hear from you. I'm glad your EEG went well and I, too, hope you never need another one.
I'm so glad things seem to have come out normal. Great news!

Cake, I'm sorry you're so sick. Rats on not letting the cat out! I hope you feel better very soon.

I can't take a picture of the rash. I don't have a camera or a smart phone. As my Mom used to say, "Poor people have poor ways." Does this mean the rash is going to come and go?

Thank you for the info Gus. I used to eat the stamens of honeysuckle when I was a kid. They were sweeter than candy.

Kiya, I'm so sorry you're in such pain today. Be well, my friend and know you are loved.

I received a copy of the actual referral today. They told me about the mass in my throat. They did not tell me I have a mass in my lip and one within my oral cavity. The Dr. is not only an Entarologist, ( I didn't spell that right.), but she is also a plastic surgeon of the head and neck areas. That explains why there is no one here who can treat me. I feel sick, but there's nothing for it but to buck up and do the best I can.

Felt reasonably okay yesterday. Today is a whole nuther matter. Slept 11 hours and am still exhausted. Body aches, fibro fog, y'all know the drill. I had plans for things I wanted to accomplish today. Instead I'm going to spend the day rolled in a ball on the sofa.

Today is a struggle not to catastrophize. We are in a slow period at work right now. The pace will go through the roof when the kids return to school in a few weeks. I keep wondering how the h e l l I'm going to survive when they come back. Work like a demon all week and spend the weekend on the sofa is no way to live life. *sigh*

Gus, thanks for the info about the herbs. I will look into them.

Am afraid to address folks individually for fear of missing someone. Best wishes to all.

It's 97 degrees here to day which is not good for me. Yesterday I was so sick I had to send my son to the store for some ginger ale which he had to walk to go get but he was happy to go because I gave him money for lunch.

McGee and Sunny our cats are domestic terrorists. I am convinced. McGee is only 9 lbs but boy can he cause havoc then he looks at you so sweet like "what did I do" really do you see the toilet paper all over the front room good god almighty and if that wasn't bad enough my daughter had trouble with her boyfriend last night. Why does everything have to happen at 1 am. I swear I am going to run far far away

This heat is making my stomach upset and I just want to sleep

Ok I am done now sorry for the rant

Has anyone heard from Christina ? I hope she is ok

Liz, I hope you feel better. Dealing with the new school year must be so overwhelming. I don't have solid advice for you, but know I care and I'm sending good thoughts your way.

Gus, we have pink honeysuckle as well as yellow honeysuckle here. Oh, it's so good!

Cake, I worry about you and the heat. I'm glad Mikey was able to get your ginger ale. It really helps. Your cats sound like fur ball terrorists. Thank heavens Belle hasn't been able to reach the tp! I hope you feel better very soon.
