Well between my husbands ongoing infection, my pain , No sleep , watched 26 episodes of the TV show ER , my eyes might actually be bleeding..

My Allergy med is a total waste, gotta flip meds but that will require I go to Hellmart... Sooooo Im at the deciding point how much utter snot banging headaches and sneeezes that scare the cows will I suffer before I force myself to go into that Petri dish in a mad rush because my Gov is Garbage and isnt even " asking" people to wear a mask.... Hes ONE and DONE ! His Big company Hvac services never shut the doors once since the start of this plague..

Yeah I can wait .. I've got a couple bottles of nyquil... Ill just sip on those a couple times a day..

And whoever ordered this hot weather today? they can go get stuffed..

Gentle hugs, Antihistamine sprinkles and pain medications that WILL take away All Pain ! Fibro too !

(*(*(*(*Christina*)*)*)*) Man I hear you about the allergies! You know you can order online from Hellmart and have stuff sent to the house? Maybe order what you need and have it shipped?

Pfrog, you find the best humor.

Raging Vortex, I hope you find some relief.

I need to quit showers. that's what does it for me

but until they find another scientific breakthrough that allows you to get the same benifit of a shower without feeling any pain, I guess I am stuck with it

Liz , I could do the park and call Pharmacy and they bring out the med, but damn if I dont need a couple food it items...

We do order Mucinex online from them.. the stuff in the store is crazy price , but online we find it much cheaper...

Xeljanz is really helping my PsA .. My joints are stiff when I get up but after I'm up and hour my joints are not popping and cracking and me not limping around, so that is good.

Fibro pain? Good Gawd Its just so awful...

Gentle hugs

I take that back, I do know why.

I've got to have a difficult conversation - THAT conversation - with my boss and I'm just ... I don't know how or where to start!

I know I cannot return to work as a bus operator.

It's not that I can't drive, it's my mobility issues!

They've gotten to the point that I am physically unable to do all that's required to pre and post trip the bus into and out of service.

Not to mention the new Covid-19 protocols in place that will require us to sanitize them several times a day while in service!

I've pushed through as long as I can, and I just can't do it anymore!

I feel useless = worthless!

It scares me because it's either gonna go one or two ways ...

Either they will utilize ADA and find me a vacant position I'm qualified for that doesn't require a lot of physical activity or ...

I will be forced to go out on long-term disability and lose everything I've worked so hard to achieve this past decade!

I'm only 11 months away from being vested and it sucks to know I'm not going to make it - at least no serving in my current capacity!

Of course, I would get back all I've contributed, but that IS NOT THE SAME as having a monthly retirement check coming in!

Not even gonna try to imagine how I'll get by on disability and cover rent, healthcare, groceries, gas and all that ...

De-Pfkn-Pfeated Indeed!

Aw, pfrog. That sucks. I hope they find a way to accommodate you in a different position. This damn disorder steals so much from us.

I just had an idea. Could you continue to drive the bus if they had someone else sanitize it?

Not likely, @lizardlady ...

Were there to be an emergency that required a quick, physical response, I wouldn't be able to handle or do it!

I doubt seriously I'd even be able to pass a DOT physical if required at this point!

And, you are so very right ... It sucks that these maladies blatantly rob us of so much we used to love and be able to do!

Meanwhile, here's a silver lining from just this morning on the farm ...

Fibromyalgia Check-In Thread #5 ...

It took a little doing for me to get myself over there and in a good angle for the shot, but I got it!

I'm so sorry Pfrog ...

I hate that you are in such a lousy situation.. Id certainly push for accomodations of some sort.. Can you take an FMLA time to catch a break?

((((( Pfrog )))))

Thank you, ~@Christina ...

The FMLA probably wouldn't even have to come into play, but yes, it's there if needed.

We're currently working from home at present due to Covid-19 shutdown and not slated to return for at least another two months.

After that, I've got a month of leave time stockpiled.

I also belong to a shared leave pool that would kick in after that.

Between those two I have enough paid leave to get me through until the Long Term Disability kicked in, but ...

I'd rather keep working so I don't lose my retirement with the university.

Only a year to go to be vested on that and it's heartbreaking to think I may not get there!

I'm sending the e-mail today so we'll see what happens from here.

I think it's going to be okay no matter what happens.

I'm just really sad that it's gotten to this point.

Not to mention the pfactor due to all the uncertainties!

They are working on it as we speak @lizardlady & @~Christina

I sent the memo to my boss (he's a good egg) on Monday morning.

He called me by lunch the same day and was quite empathetic and supportive of my situation.

He also already had quite a few scenarios and solutions in mind.

He asked my permission to discuss it with other department heads in our division and the wheels are already in motion.

I'm trying to remain as optimistic as possible.

Y'all know what it's like living with chronic pain day in and day out and what a challenge that can be!

I sure do appreciate y'all's caring and concern too!

All the cards are on the table ...

Naught to do now but wait.

I'm sorry shower's hurt so bad @raging vortex ...

I miss being able to get into the tub for a hot soak.

It got to where it was just to painful to get myself back up and out, and I seriously doubt I could even do that now!

When it comes to taking a shower, it isn't so much the pain as how exhausted I am afterwards.

The things that regular folks take for granted tend to destroy those of us that struggle with chronic pain issues.

I have been gone from PC a long time and never thought I’d return. I’m still not sure about returning. I’ll check in on this post and go from there.
