Thanks Christina. Yep, taking my temp. So far it's normal or below. I closed my windows and loaded up on allergy & asthma meds. Back to feeling "normal." I would love to have the windows open, but learned my lesson. Gonna keep 'em closed.

Sorry, for the minor freak out. Have been on an emotional roller coaster the last couple of days.

Just stopping by to say howdy and ask how everyone is.

I'm feeling a little stir crazy but still maintaining a semblance of normalcy so far.

Once things settle back down and we start making our way back out there on a regular basis again ...

It sure is going to be interesting to see what the new normal is.

Stay Safe Pfibro Pfriends!

Thanks for asking Christina. I finally have the allergies beaten into submission. The weather here was so nice Monday I wanted to open the windows. Reminded myself what would happen if I opened them and left 'em closed

Emotionally I'm on a wild roller coaster. I had a meltdown yesterday reading an article of what it's like in a NJ hospital from a nurse's perspective. I had tears running down my face reading it.

I'm getting stir crazy from being at home. It's ironic. For years I've talked about how I love living by myself in the boonies. Talked about pulling up to my gate after work and being so happy I don't have to talk to or look at another human being until the next morning. Now my safe haven feels more like a prison. I remind myself that I have 10 acres I can go outside and play on while people in the city are trapped indoors. When I'm feeling squirrely I really don't care.

I have a fibro question for the group. When I'm at work I'm at my desk at times, but I'm also up walking around at times. Working from home I'm parked on my butt at my desk. I'm trying to get up and move around every 30-60 minutes, but I'm flaring. Any suggestions?

Hi Liz I totally get craving the peace but then it making you feel like you are going stir crazy.

Not sure I know why you are flaring other then stress can do it. The isolation the uncertainty of things the emotions those can all be triggers.

My lupus currently is really bad I am having to do breathing treatments every few hours then my heart racings it’s a never ending cycle. Both of my kids have been laid off and are home and that’s driving me nuts and it’s driving the cats nuts 🤣🤣 the cats really miss the quite.

Hubby is still working. He is an electrician and is working at a hospital so I am trying to stay away from him so that means I am sleeping on the couch. It’s fine because my sleep pattern is way off.

I really can’t wait for this to be over with but I think every governor should be on the same page and doing the samething and they are not. It’s frustrating

Take care every sending gentle hugs to all

Cake

Im glad your feeling better Liz Im feeling stuck and I also have land I can go wander on, but its Pollen hell here so I stay indoors unless Im taking the dogs to the pasture and I have been wearing a mask to do so. Before I bring the dogs back in I have a damp towel I rub over them, the pasture is beautiful with wild flowers but that damn pollen.

Can you schedule into your work day " breaks" set an alarm for every hour and get up and move around? Maybe step outside for a few, or sweep a room, throw clothes in the washer??? anything that gets you up and on your feet for 5-10 mins? I often pace around my house while I'm watching a youtube video on my phone.

My Fibro is roaring really loud I think for me its just anxiety driven, I'm always reminding myself my shoulders should not be hunched up and touching my ears .. *sigh*

Cake Hiya ! Im sorry your having a hard time But Im very happy to see you

Pfrog Take care of yourself

Cake, I'm with Christina, sorry you are struggling but delighted to see you.

Ironically I stumbled across an article yesterday about stretches you can do to help with stiffness caused by sitting at your desk. I'm going to start doing them. I walked to my mailbox yesterday (1/4 mile from the house). Got to multitask doing it - mailed letters to clients, got some exercise and am trying to teach the dog some manners walking on a leash.

Hadn't thought of setting an alarm to tell myself to get up and move around. Good idea. I have been getting up doing things. I need to start doing it more often.

Christina, you hit on an important point. We are all under a ton of stress right now. That makes fibro worse.

With the man in the White House pushing the use of chloroquine, are any of you having trouble getting yours?

Liz thats great that you found stretches that help with Fibro, My Rhuemy asked me first visit if I know how to do stretching.. I was like yes ? Well No I was stretching incorrectly, he showed me the steps to stretch each limb in order to get the best results.. It really helped alot, not all the time but I noticed the difference.

Ahhh your Mail box is 1/4 mile away too??? I normally walk up to get the mail but all this constant rain for months has washed out my driveway so its always a lake, when we have a few dry days its a mud hole any pig would love to call home... We have a spring that runs across our property so walking through it to get up to the mailbox is no fun and rattle snakes and copper heads are having babies right now and my husband hasnt gone out bush hogging this year yet, so Im not wading thru all that unable to see the ground...

This is when I really miss my horses, I loved riding up to get my mail any day I could.. My saddlemare loved stomping around in mud she just loved it

We really need to have more churt brought in to fix our driveway over the years its just gone away.. but hell it would cost close to 800 dollars 2 old broke ill people on SSDI cant afford that kind stuff, so I drive to the mail box..

Fibromyalgia Check-In Thread #5 ...

Hoping everybody's day isn't quite that bad today, but I'm certain we've all been there - and will be again!

I don't know what's blooming right now, but I've sneezed enough the last 3 days to power a windmill!

About that moving around, I make myself get up at least twice an hour to stretch and putter.

I made the mistake of puttering a little to far Wednesday afternoon and am paying the price for that one!

Severe weather prognosticated for the weekend so I'm right certain that'll ramp the pain up a bit as well - DAMMIT!

In the meantime, here's to Pfriday ... May it be a good 'un!

Thanks, ~@Christina!

Sunday looks like a right nasty set-up for sure!

It's gonna hurt, but I can't think of a better group of people to hurt along with!

Here's hoping our aches and pains aren't compounded by storm damage!

Hey everyone. Ugly weather is supposed to hit here too. Maybe I'll get some stuff taken care of in the house.

The stretches I found aren't specifically for fibro. They are for people sitting at a desk more than usual. I did some of them and some yoga Thursday. Seemed to help.

Since we are all likely to be hurting tomorrow I like the idea of huddling together here. Between stress from current situation and fibro chit I find I am short on patience with people. I sort of went off on someone in one of the forums because they were defending Trump's handling of the virus. I'm not sure "went off" is accurate. I was forceful in what I said. What I really wanted to do was scream and curse at them. I know the largest part of this is caused by overall stress caused by covid situation, but do the rest of you find your temper gets short when fibro gets bad?

Christina, back in the day when I was training horses I'd use the walk to the mailbox to cool them out. I don't envy you having to slog through mud. I would drive too.

It’s suppose to warm up here and I am not looking forward to that and I can’t wait for this shelter in place to end. I have both kids at home and one doesn’t want to stay at home but go out and about. It’s frustrating

Take care everyone. You are all in my thoughts

Yeah, I feel you on that one, @lizardlady ... I just don't seem to have the patience for people's BS anymore!

Also, the easter bunny seems to have skipped over my place this year, so ...

Hope everyone got through the storms safely!

I heard it got right nasty here around 3:00 a.m.

Believe it or not, I slept through the whole thing!

I reckon that's bad on one hand, but good on the other.

If we'd've taken a direct hit, I'd've never known.

Pfrog ..Glad you made it through safely.. A friend here on PC didnt take a direct hit thankfully less than a mile away did, lives were lost and many people in the hospital... No idea when the power will be back on tho. and low in the 30's .. My heart breaks for her and her elderly Mom and brother in poor health.

We are getting such horrible storms and our storm season is just starting according to the calender.. I hate to think it will get worse

Hope your pain is tolerable

I'm hurting like heck and have a cold/allergies/ the coronavirus or something that keeps me blowing my nose and very tired.

Oh, well, I'll take medicine and read and watch TV.

Hope the weather will be warmer and everyone here will feel better.

Well, I finally capitulated, y'all!

Things have been strange here is California it heats up then goes cold again. My body doesn’t know which way to turn. Then my husband is thankfully still working and I am very grateful but they need face masks they will be out by today so I have been trying to make some but sitting at the sewing machine is killing my back. Oh well I made 10 last night and 8 the night before

Take care everyone

Cake, 18 masks ought to be plenty. If they are cloth they can be washed and used again.

Well, @~Christina ... There's not much can be done for my hip (except surgery) at this point, but ...

It definitely made a difference in the overall chronic pain, brittleness & stiffness I've been having in my other joints and tissues!

Hope everyone is doing as well as can be, stay safe & have a good Monday!
