Oh my, brain fog! I can't think until at least noon and nothing seems to help. I don't make appointments until at least 2:00 p.m. I'm sorry you are feeling this, too.

We're absolutely working on finding someone to do the physical moving part for us. We don't know a lot of folks so it's hard to ask friends. We are calling around to a couple of churches to see if we can get some help from their congregation. Please wish us luck!

I am praying for you to get help moving, Sabby. If I only lived closer we could get a lot of boxes in my van.

Awww...thanks Jan and newgal!

I'm sure we will figure something out. There are places we can call where people have to do so many hours of community service. Don't worry, they are not all people released from prison...lol. Some of them are just hard on their luck and repay for having a bed to sleep in and food in their stomachs.

We will also call some churches too. The Mormon Church folks do a lot of community assistance and they have some young guys that are moving up in the church (training for eldership and such) that are strong and willing to help as well.

We have an arctic front that has moved in for the next week or so. It was 7 degrees when I got up this morning and it had increased from over night. I couldn't go to sleep and when I did, I couldn't stay asleep. I feel awful. This too, shall pass. I know it will, but in the meantime can someone pass me a working brain and a caffiene IV.

Jan, do you have a vaporizor? If so, get it going to put a bit of moisture in the air. It will help make your apartment feel warmer and it's great for the skin too!

With this cold air comes very dry air. No matter how much you turn up the heat, if there is no moisture in it, it doesn't seem to feel warm enough.

When I got up this morning it was 1 degree, tonight it may get down to -14 degrees and that's not the wind chill degree...lol. Then again, it is winter here and we do get cold air. I just wish Canada would learn how to shut the danged door now and again....geeesh.

Added another 30 seconds of jogging to my jog/walk routine this morning. Am really hoping it doesn't cause a flare. Will find out soon enough!

Hope everyone else is well.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....baby it's ccccccold outside!!!

Just got back in from cleaning at least another 10+ inches of snow off the car. Ugggh the wind nearly took me away to gosh knows where...lol.

Decided to use the big broom we have instead of using the small snow brush. What a difference that made! Took me half the time to clean it all off.

Hopefully the wind won't throw too much snow back onto the car between now and tomorrow morning when we have to move it for the plow truck. Snow on the 2 sides of the car was almost up to my knees. If only I was a kid again, I could have such fun in it!

My shoulders and arms are a bit sore from using the broom but nothing too bad. Hopefully it's all good and no flare will come from it. *crossing eyes and fingers*

Hmmm, and down here in the South we blame you Yankees for leaving the door open. Hearing all the tales of folks struggling with the cold and snow I'm so glad I live down here.

Sabby, I here ya about thinking the snow would be fun if you were a kid. I remember having a ball playing in the stuff when I was a kid. Don't want to deal with it now though.

Hi all,

Sabby..moving can be stressful. Packing, boxes, furniture. ugh..Things always falls into place..and it works out. Take care.

Jan..I feel you pain. I have had fibro for over 10 years. I am going to a new GP, so I hoping he is open on fibromyalgia. I was on Lyica for a time. Maybe a muscle relaxant, or non narcotic pain med.

Newgal2..it is encouraging to read your posts on exercise. It is on the list of things to do. The Fibromyalgia check in thread! I know daily exercise would improve my mood and pain.

Gus..thank you & anyone I might have missed.

Hi gang. Hope everyone is feeling okay today.

I'm pleased to report that I increased my jog time by 30 seconds yesterday and no flare! I will make it to that 5k yet. It might take me some time, but I'll get there (hopefully).

Fibro ? Please just go to hell

Maybe I shouldn't complain, but I'm gonna. My overall pain level is more like a never ending background noise today, rather then the screaming pain it was a few days ago. I should be happy it's less, right? But I'm worn out by it all. I'm flat out exhausted. I'm tired of hurting. I'm tired of not having a functional brain cell in my head. Mostly I'm just plain old tired.

Okay, whingeing over. You may return to your regularly scheduled activities now.

It's still snowing, we have about a foot of snow and an arctic air mass is coming in from Canada. I've got to get the van cleaned off but the older I get the harder it gets. If I can get it done and then get a warm shower, I might manage it. I need to go to the store and drug store in this nightmare. I have a friend who might go for me though I hate to impose at this time.

I ache all over this morning and I am in pain in my derriere again.

Sabby, thank you for the hint about the humidifier. I had no idea that's why it seems so cold in here. I can take a pan and put it on the stove and put it on simmer. That's the best I can manage. Hopefully, I won't forget it.

So far my increasing my jog portion of my jog/walking by 30 seconds has not resulted in a flare. Sunday I will be increasing it by another 30 seconds. It's going to take me a long time to get up to a 5k I think, but I'm up to the challenge.

We have another front coming in today and I am hurting very much. I am having problems sitting again. Standing and laying down hurt too, just like before I started on the meds, but not as much. I guess I shouldn't have expected total remission. We have yet another front coming through today and I guess that's what set it off. I checked and I am on the full dosage for both of the meds they are using to treat me for the fibro. I am so grateful that I am not hurting full force like I was before though.

Hi Mindful,

I am taking Gabapentin, (Neurontin), and Naproxen, (Naprosyn). I was so miserable yeterday that I did some more research and I understand that the Naproxen dosage can be increased. I am going to call my rhuemy and ask if she will do it.

I am currently taking 500 mg. Naproxen bid and 300 mg. Neurontin tid. As I said, it has really helped. The pain has just flared in the last four days. Today seems to be better, but we don't have another front moving into our region currently.

I wish you painfree days!

Jan

Hi January..ty for the reply The Fibromyalgia check in thread!

I have been on Gabapentin in the past, it doesn't help with pain..Never been on Naprexen though. Years ago I had a Rumalogist, he sent me packing as he wasn't comfortable with Rx,s since I was on psyc meds. Going to a new GP, see what he suggests.
I know I need to exercise. It is just a vicious circle The Fibromyalgia check in thread!

Hi Mindful,

You are most welcome for the reply. My rhuemy gave me the naproxen and worked in tandem with my pdoc to give me the nuerontin, since it's also used for bipolar meds. Since I'm bp, that worked out great and it has really helped me in that area also.

If I can ever help you, leave a message here or feel free to send me a pm.

Since I am having so much breakthrough pain, the rhuemy is going to put me on mobic instead of the naprosyn and leave the nueronton alone. She said it's a little bit stronger than the naprosyn. Maybe it will do the trick.
