Someone asked a question in this weeks chat. I don't remember the question, but I do remember the part of DocJohn's answer that I needed to see. He shared a link that he thought might be helpful Tiny Habits w/ Dr. BJ Fogg - Join

I followed that link and signed up for some help. The funniest thing is that today I asked my Therapist a question. She replied that I may need to make something I asked about a habit. This link is going to help me learn how to do that.

Again, Thank you for this weeks Q&A chat.
Thanks for this!

I'm glad you posted this, emwell! This looks very interesting. I have just signed up to do it next week. I have to start thinking about goals. One of them will probably be to leave my apartment every day, even if it's just to go to the mailbox.

I am glad you think it might be helpful to you as well. It can't hurt to try it.

Today was my day to begin. I did not do well. The good thing is that although I failed somewhat, I received nothing but encouragement.

Today my email reminded me to keep my goals simple. "....If your new tiny behaviors are not truly tiny, scale back now. Please be patient, focus on tiny...." The easier I make it the better chance I will succeed.
Hugs from:

Okay, it seems "going to the mailbox" is too large a goal. I think I may be able to do this!

I have done so much better today jo_thorne. And I think going to the mailbox is a great goal. Remember to form it this way, After I "do this", I will "do this". But don't listen to me. I have no idea what I am doing.

Today, "After I feed the beagle, I will give him a carrot". Tiny task is done.

I do appreciate your thanks Jo, but I cannot take credit for this idea. DocJohn answered someone elses question in his weekly chat. I listened to his answer and passed it on here, where it got to you. I find it funny how things work sometimes.

You're a communicator! They do great things.

p.s. does your beagle really like carrots? do you even have a beagle?

I can't make it to the mailbox in 30 seconds, so it will have to be something smaller.

I am not sure jo_thorne, but I think this may be helping me. I just sent email asking if I should be seeing progress so soon?

I have an "After I get out of bed, I will "do this" tiny task.

This morning before I even got up I was already thinking about "doing this". This is something I have been trying to remember to do every day since before Christmas, last summer even. Since I tried this method, I have done it Tuesday, Wednesday, and now Thursday.

Good Luck with your tiny tasks. I would love to hear how it goes.

That's terrific! I don't start officially until next Monday, but I'm already finding myself thinking about two of my tasks when I do the anchor activity.
