Raindropvampire here tonight. Finally gave my T the okay to start trauma therapy and feeling a bit overwhelmed with it.

No treatment plan, but I'm in psychodynamic therapy.

I've never come across anyone who does treatment plans except for one psychiatrist in the past. In that instance, a treatment plan was something we just quickly did to sort of get done because it was required to be in the file. It didn't seem to have real meaning.

I think it's a good idea to tell your therapist what your goals are, but I don't think a formal treatment plan is necessary for the average person. Might be helpful for minors (so that the parents can agree) or people who have guardians.
Thanks for this!

What type of therapy are you going to do?

Since my goals are changing my treatment plan might as well, not sure I've ever been told I have a treatment plan though.

First thing she wants to tackle is my not giving a crap about anything. She says I'm so "shell shocked" that I just compartmentalize everything and feel none of it. I avoid everything at all costs and just accept and move on no matter what crap I'm dealt.

So she told me to close my eyes and "walk through my house". She everything like I'm wearing a body cam and tell her how/what I feel/think.

IT was very unsettling because I didn't realize I had so much trouble feeling but if it's not anger or depressed apparently I don't feel it.

She said there was going to be much more to all this but she wanted to start with baby steps because my damage is so deep.

That kind of sounds lie my PE therapy. I have to close my eyes and walk through the trauma giving all the details, I have to say it three times and record and listen to it daily . Usually when I talk about it I don't cry but during the sessions I emotionally connect to it and start crying. It was very hard at first but getting a little easier to listen to.
Yes, do baby steps and good luck with this.

At work as usual. I figure if I'm not going to sleep at night I may as well work and make
some money.

Well I can't argue with that. Do you work from home? I have trouble sleeping as well. Oh what I would give to get to sleep, stay asleep and feel rested the next morning.
Glad you are okay, get back to work

I'm the 3rd shift manager of a gas station. So from 12am-5:45am I'm locked in here by myself trying to find stuff to keep me occupied. It's why I come here so much(even though I mainly stick to the games section). My mind can go to dark places with so much downtime.

I hear you on the stay asleep and feel rested. I only manage to sleep in 90 minute increments then it takes me about 1-2 hours to fall back to sleep for the next 90 minute block. I never feel rested and think it really contributes to my mood always being so low.

What are you up to this evening/morning?

Sounds like me but I'm up on 60 minute schedule. Drives my sleep doctor crazy when they look at my cpap reading. With our sleep getting interrupted like that we are not getting the restful REM sleep we need. Have you tried melatonin, 5 mg, sublingual? That helps a little.

I've always been scared of melatonin for some reason but I should really look into it. I have to find out if it's safe to take with abilfy and wellbutrin.

Everyone out there doing ok tonight?

Yeah the line of storms that moved through here caused part of our ceiling to fall in the garage. Have to call insurance about it and see if it's covered. Looks like there is a small leak and the insulation got soaked then boom collapse.

What's scary is that it's not even summertime that's when we usually get storms like this.

Hey there! I am kind of alone on the boards so I just poked my nose in here. Games is empty, I just dominated the Coffeehouse. I hope everyone is having a good night so far.

We had a couple of thunderstorms pass through here several days ago, I don't know, but I enjoyed it. It didn't cause that much damage around these parts though.

Poke in anytime you want It's hard to believe we are getting this severe weather so early, but then again it is May, hard to believe.

Thanks! I know its been really crazy weather. I am on the East Coast, and it's getting really hot too soon. It's like it went from Winter to Summer and its flip flopping back and forth.

But I hope you are enjoying your night!

I agree, I live in NC and this is typical for us, run the ac and the heat in the same week.
