For the past several weeks I've been dealing with an increase in melt downs and anxiety. It seems like every time I start to get my brain to calm down I end up in sensory overload which then triggers my anxiety attacks and melt downs. I've tried everything I can think and nothing helps.

Hello, I my self suffer from social anxiety disorder. It's a terrible thing to live with. On the other hand their are tips, and tricks to help you feel more stable, while in a panic state. 1. Feel objects around you table, desk, chair, anything that's close touch it. This let's you know that your in a real world, and you are still here. 2. Breathe in, and out slowly. Even if your breathing is shaky providing a steady flow of air to your bloodstream and your brain will be beneficial. Even if you're going to have an attack. 3. Lay down tell your self everything is going to be okay. Tell your self this is not a life or death situation. Actually there's a lot of unique ways to help control your anxiety. If you need someone to chat with I'm here, best regards my friend.

great advise BookOfLife. I just want to add that I lie on my bed with something that has a bit of weight to it on my chest. In my case I have a bean bag. But something like a water bottle or hot water bottle could work too. I find it very comforting and really relieves the anxiety rather quickly.

That is a great idea. I never thought of using a hot water bottle but it makes sense. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
