This morning, I woke up with a sense of fear and helplessness. This isn't the first time this has happened. I have these mornings every couple of weeks. It is a different feeling than my daily general anxiety and underlying depression. Today, I feel overwhelmed with insecurity, fear of something (not sure what), and a feeling I need someone to help me. I hate this feeling...I know it will likely pass by tomorrow. I wish I knew why I have these days.

I have a therapist, but haven't seen her since July. I almost called her office this morning to see if she had a free slot. I don't know...I stopped going to her because I felt I was stuck in the same place and the sessions got repetitive. I might try to finding a new therapist.

I'm sorry you're going through this as I know how tough it is to deal with.
Have you ever considered that those of us with depression, anxiety, mood disorders and other related issues aren't able to produce the needed neurotransmitters so we need to supplement them in order to feel normal? Here is a brain function questionnaire that I think you'll find interesting, especially the 'O Group' as feeling fearful is a symptom of your brain not having enough of the opoid neurotransmitters. http://drjolee.com/Brain-Function-Questionnaire.pdf I was on meds for 13+ years for bipolar 2 with tons of side-effects and only marginal success. When the side-effects got to where I just couldn't take it any more, I went off them and later learned about using amino acids to control it along with the mineral supplement lithium orotate. I've been using the amino acids for 9 years now, and it's amazing how much better I feel. And if my mood shifts or I'm overly anxious, I just take a couple of extra of whichever supplement I need, and I'm usually fine within a few hours. Here are some articles on controlling depression and anxiety with alternative treatments: Amino Acid Therapy for Depression and Anxiety https://www.integrativepsychiatry.ne...epression.html Natural Alternatives To Xanax, Ativan, And Anti-Anxiety Drugs - Reset.me

I know this feeling. It weighs down the heart. I think it helps to talk with people you trust, close friends and family members. I like to read others messages here when I'm struggling. It helps me feel connected to others. I like to take a walk and really look at the beauty of nature. Use compassionate self talk, such as you are loved, and whatever happens you know you are going to make it through. xo |

Thank you for the great suggestions and support!
I do have a family obligation that I am not looking forward to this weekend and it is with two members of my family that cause me much stress. That could be weighing on my mind. I hadn't thought about that until now. |
