ive only jus joined so i m still feelin my way about, however it didnt take me long too find some very useful info relatin to my state of mind. the 1st thing i lookedf at was agerophobia ( i dont go out much im 22, sad eh) hang on im gonna start soundin very borin so ill cut to the chase that lead me onto social phobia blah blah blah and finally the severe depression ( i kinda like the severe bit otherwise it sounds lame to me anyway no offence plain old depression, sorry).
untilnow ive never really wanted to accept that i suffer with depression, i know its just a word but i didnt feel that it justified this ' 4 year existence of nothin '. bloody hell mmmm...yeah that somes it up alright.
sorry my mind has gone blank now so ill jusshow my appreciation =)

p.s. i would really appreciate some stimulatin therapy kinda questions cos the doc only seems to wanna give me medication ( surely aftyer 4 years he'd work out there aint a magic pill to this problem) thx again bye.

Hi,
Welcome to the forums.. I am 20 if you ever want to talk to someone around your age let me know. As for the depression ask your therapist if he would do some talk therapy with you. Meds alone don't always solve the problem.. Also every one here is more than happy to listen and help the best that they can hey every one

NICO,

Welcome to psych central. There are so many good people here and I hope that you will stick around and find that out for yourself.

Is your doctor a therapist or a psychiatrist? Many med docs aren't as qualified for psychotherapy as a therapist. If you are only seeing a med doc (pdoc) I would recommend you seeing a therapist as well. It might help. As for therapy questions, I don't really have any since I don't know your situation very well. Have you discussed your concerns with your doc? Maybe he thinks you're doing well even though you aren't feeling that way? Good luck and keep us posted.

Ry

Welcome.

I have noticed a theme to your posts on this thread you seem to want us to act as therapists and as you say analyze you. We cannot do that. once logged in even if there are any therapists and psychologists among us there is no professional work being practiced here. For that you need to find a "real world" therapist or counseling agency. For us to do what you keep asking of us would be a dangerious thing that could possibly lead to making you worse by missing some key elements in your symptoms, diagnosis and treatment plans, and we could also do un repairable damage by counteracting the plans your physician, psychiatrist and or psychologist have put in place specifically for you. support and resourses we give, practice therapy while on this website we dont do. Good luck to you.

Nico,

I just thought of something else. There is a feature available here called "Ask the therapist". You can link to it from the Announcement Forum. Maybe that will be of some help to you.

Hugs~

Hi Nico and welcome to the forums.

I think it is important to find a therapist in addition to your doctor in order to gain benefit. I personally believe that a combination of medicine and therapy are necessary to get the job done, meds alone won't do it.

As others have said, we do not and can not offer that kind of therapy here. What we do offer is support, friendship, a place for your voice to be heard, and a chance to interact with others who understand what this illness is like.

It seems like you have a need for that which you have already found some appreciation for here.

But finding a personal therapist in addition to you doc and these support forums may be necessary to find the relief you seek. Relief is available, keep trying until you find it.

Welcome again, and I hope you find a lot of support in this community, as I have.

Hi Nico hey every one

Hello from Canada!

I strongly suggest that you go to a major University hospital's psychiatry department and ask if they have a "Day Treatment" program (psychotherapy program). You are probably needing medication and psychotherapy (cognitive behavourial therapy ... excuse my spelling!).

Take Care!

Hey NICO welcome to psychcentral. Sorry it had to be under these circumstances, but hey, if not, neither of us would be here! I also have major (medical) depression... Tell us a bit about yourself... are you studying anything.. you said you don't go out much? So you don't work? I agree with Dexter, your doctor that prescribes might not do talk therapy...but you keep trying it on him, and maybe he'll get serious in finding someone you can talk with! hey every one

i wish i was workin or studyin somethin that i enjoy, i suppose the closest thing ive done in way of study in this stage of my mental trip is tai chi and it bloody works a treat for anxiety, after a class i would hold my head up high and stride down the street like a normal person. but becuase its run run by an adult education centre the next term was fully booked so i couldnt continue it. earlier in my illness i did a creative writin course, i completed most of it (all the sections that appealed to my creativity) then i realised i didnt have the patience to be a professional writer......right i need a bottom line ummmmmmmm......sorry my minds gone blank now lol hey every one
