What is it that gives me the paranoia feeling over decisions or discussions I have with people. Newest example: We had new neighbors move into the rental house next door to us. They are our age and have a little girl the same age as mine. The girls play constantly and we are making friends with the parents. I'm always second guessing things we've talked about or that something might happen where the neighbor doesn't like me. Then we see each other and all is well. i work myself up over nothing. Is that paranoia or anxiety? Or OCD? I just want to pinpoint it. I'm tired of doing it to myself, but not sure how to stop. It is part of that racing thoughts while I'm trying to go to sleep. I think about everything I've done all day and rehash or worry over something I did or said.

I would say that it's more anxiety than anything else. I used to do that too, while laying in bed. I'd get myself so worked up over the silliest things!! And like you said, usually everything turned out just fine!

I once thought "what's the worst that could happen?" And each time I answered that question, I couldn't think of anything worse than all the worrying I'd been doing! LOL So I figured, why worry about it at all? It took some practice & getting used to the idea, but i finally quit worrying & getting so anxious over stuff. All of it was out of my control anyway ~ worrying couldn't change anything.

Most of these outcomes aren't up to us. So you might as well relax. God bless. Hugs, Lee

I too would say that it is anxiety. I told my therapist that I was not sure if I was depressed because of the anxiety or anxious because of the depression. I was put on an anti anxiety and boy did that make a world of difference. If you are not worrying then there is not much to be upset about. I turn over almost every thing I have done that day while laying in bed. 99% of the time something I worried about is absolutely nothing. "What if the neighbor thinks I am rude because I don't talk to her very much?" She has a little girls, crazy dog and a husband. I doubt she has given me a 2nd thought except when our house noises carry through their walls. Things I would take personally are not the same as others. I don't like getting cut off in traffic, just cause I have a little car. That guy is late for work and does not see me. He sees a little obstacle and in no way is out for revenge or harm.
