no reason to get out of bed except to feed the animals. no reason to stay up, except i saw a mockingbird drinking out of the birdbath, so i took some more cracked corn out for the doves and re-filled birdbath. nothing now. calls about my daughter wanting to go into labor. i ust want to be there with them and my granddaughters.

streets are totally quiet. no traffic at all. everyone is busy. i don't have enough $ to buy gas to go out to look at the house at the ranch. i'm feeling an extreme amount of self-pity. no food.

christmas totally alone really hurts.

Yeah... well... it's when being with others is too much stress over the stress and sadness of being alone?

Mockingbirds are great! They are the only bird (in USA anyway) that can SING while it flies. (Other birds can squawk or caw, but not sing a tune) They can also MOCK many different sounds from nature (and some that hang around populated areas learn human sounds.) Frogs, crickets and of course other birds come to mind.

sigh. I gave a clue about inducing labor in the other thread (castor oil)

I don't know if I should 1) call mom and see if she wants me to take her out to a steak house that's open 2) go eat alone or 3) not bother to eat a meal again today (none since ??? Wednesday?? I forget.)

Fayerody, we've come through a rough year...you and me together... funny how things can turn out, eh? TC lady I'm feeling your sadness. Christmas funk

sigh. I called her. She just ate a "dogwood type sandwich" of leftover turkey and dressing and cranberry (my sister had cooked her a big meal Friday while she was down.) She invited me over... I told her it wasn't because of her that I can't come today. sigh. Told her if I went out at all it would be to go eat. (she of course insisted if I could do that, I could go see her too.) My life doesn't work that way.

I just got back from foraging for food.. got semi dressed and found an ale house open. Crowded with young ppl..all drunk. but ate something.. and didn't have much guilt about mom either. I'll see her tomorrow when I'm more up to it.

well, if it makes you feel any better... I can't taste anymore... nor smell.. so it's mostly memory, temperature and texture... turkey pot pie would have been the "same" sigh. Hope the crust was crunchy!
