Depression is like an alarm, frequently ringing in your mind and reminding you that you are worthless in this world, whatever you do is of no use and all you desire is to die...
Thanks for this!

This is a great article explaining serontonin levels in the brain and which drugs
inhibit the natural production of them.

[QUOTE=Buddyslove;2114853]Depression is feeling alone even when your surrounded by people.[/QUOTE

Buddyslove you are exactly right. depression is also confusing and it distorts the way you think. Every thought becomes negative....depression is exhausting.

Depression is like an endless gray day and all you can think about is what a total waste your life has been.

depression is like knowing you should do your homework but never doing it - that's the best way I can describe it as a college student.

Depression is when Emotions control your life, instead of life controlling your emotions.

Depression is hurting people around you, by hurting yourself.

Depression is not being able to reason yourself back into cheerfulness.

Depression is a black dog; a dark cloud; and above anything else: everything you hate - all at once.

Depression is not singing in the car anymore, never wanting to leave your room, and that fog that never seems to lift.

Depression is crushing me right now. It can physically harm me, even without driving me to self-harm.

I like the way you describe depression....

there is a way...a calmness...
an acceptance..

troubled mind can kill every good possibilty....

there is BLACK colour to me also...inside

I live with death everyday

like a ghost

depression..

so lets qualify what we been through.

how special are we?

to do what we do?

carrying this load

diabolical thing!

we are upset together..

it's ok

it's ok
Thanks for this!

Depression is living on the feeling that you are about to lose everything, even when there is nothing left.

Depression is living in a world that every time you try to fit in, someone changes the rules and requirements.

Depression is like being sick with a life threatening illness, but nobody can see you suffer, unable to find a cure, suffering till the day it ends your life
Thanks for this!

Depression is the constant reminder of how ugly, repulsive, screwedup, and worthless you are when you are doing something simple like just sitting on the bus on the way to work. It is locked TIGHT into you so that the only way you think you could SHUT THE ****ING * REMINDER* UP! is to start screaming in the bus and freak all the other passengers out, wear a for the rest of the day so i can block my view of all the others looking and disgusted at me, or just jump out the window and hope i land head first on the road...Yes, today has been a bad day. Sorry.

at times depression has felt like a vice hold on my mind. now I understand my mom suffered from it. from research it can be something wrong in the limbic system; my doc yesterday said there are genetic tests for what meds i could be allergic to or which ones will work for me. i don't think depression is repressed anger, because i'm not conscious of it. it feels like at times the mind goes into a sleep mode, even if you feel emotionally 'UP'. I don't have the answers; but I'm sick of suffering with it.
started a new med yesterday which i've taken before and today felt a dramatic change in ability to focus and look all the way back at the kitchen shelves to see what was there!! 'so if a med can fix the condition, it stands to reason it must be bio/chemical within my nervous system or brain chemistry. medical science has a long way to go in this area; mental health is not the top priority in research funds, but I'll stop here. thankful to be in my right mind today so I can pursue my goals and happiness in this life.
