I thought I had beat it - or rather the meds had beaten depression. But, hey, I feel bleh again - not as low as I was before, but not great. FRUSTRATED!!! Why can't it just go away? I am not paralyzed on the couch like before, but don't know why I can't completely kick away feeling down. I feel like a failure - like I can't overcome something that seems to be mostly in the mind.

(((((Ouch)))))

Sorry you're feeling this way. I know it's frustrating what you're going through. You are not a failure, ok? Depression is a disease, just like cancer is. You can't help falling into a hole anymore than someone else suffering a relapse of any kind.

I dont know your situation in terms of medication, but when youre first put on it, it can take a while to find a dosage/combo thats right for you.

Hang in there, ok? It WILL get better. PM me if you need to talk.

Aw man...

Well, you're right that it's mostly in your mind, but that isn't to say that "the power of positive thinking" is necessarily the cure. When depression is that bad, it's the chemicals in your brain that need some adjustment; you can't will them to change overnight. I hope you're considering a visit to the pdoc to have him/her reevaluate your meds feeling bleh again FRUSTRATED!!!! WHY???!!!!!

(((hugs))) Meds can help immensely... but they have their limits. How long has it been since they have been evaluated/ adjusted for you? Sometimes one stops working altogether and you need to try another feeling bleh again FRUSTRATED!!!! WHY???!!!!!

Keep on keeping on.... the desire to heal can carry us far! TC!
