Okay... i just really need some direction or something... to help with my depression, because i am a very unsocialble, closed up person and i have great difficulties talking about anything. I've told my friend about how i may be depressed and she's been kind of helping me open up a little bit, but i really don't know what to do. She's been telling me over and over to tell my parents or get help but i just don't see a point in doing anything. I mean, i've gotten to the point when i just don't do anything anymore, i probably haven't been very social since the 7th grade. I never get any sleep anymore and im tired and either depressed or pissed off 24/7. I really don't care about me or anyone else and i don't know what to do because i absolutely hate myself, i couldn't care if i live or die.

Hi, i do hope that you can talk to your parents. sounds like you're getting closer to doing that.

i'm sorry that life is so hard right now. i found the teen years to be very frustrating, along the lines you're talking about.

if you can talk to your parents, suggest seeing a counselor. i think it would help to have a sympathetic and objective person IRL to listen to you.....they can be very helpful.......xoxoxo pat

as a depressed teen myself i'd tell you the best thing you can do is get tell your parents and ask for help. Even if a friend has to tell them for you. (thats how i told them i didn't want to face them) not getting help only makes it worse. You can trust me on that . Getting help and medication for my depression was probably the best choice i ever made

take care
sammi

Hello I hope things are a little better for you at this time. I would suggest as well to go see a Dr to rule out any physical problems, like thyroid being slow or some other physical ailment that may be causing the depression, and then go to a Psych Dr if the reason is nor medically based. I suggest the Dr because some depression, can be linked to thyroid problems, anorexia, and so forth. I really feel you should tell your parents, since depression can be a chemical imbalance and you need medication sometimes in order to correct the imbalance of the chemicals of the brain. Depression is manageable with the right help and medication. I am also going to leave you 2 hotline numbers to call for young people for depression 1-800-621-4000 and 1-800-448-3000 also you may call 1-800-273 TALK if you would like someone to talk to in person. I hope the best for you and I hope you get the help you need and deserve soon so that you can feel better, and live a more productive life. Take care Sincerrely Soidhonia

You must let people know how you are feeling. Its the only way that you will get over this.
It is extremely hard i know, but it is the only way to beat it.
Good luck.
