Although I consider myself a fairly well functional adult, with wonderful children,a loving husband and a decent job....there are so many times my depression seeps through my mind and I feel like giving up.
Yes something usually triggers that thought, but many times its during mundane moments, routine and such.
The worst times I play in my mind a terrible plan, mostly though, it comes like a wave......a feeling of Im "tired" Ive had "enough".
Ive been struggling with issues too long,a feeling like its useless .It will never change.
Im safe, and ok but really need to hear that others might have had those thoughts as well.
Thanks

Yep. You're not alone.

It comes in waves with me as well. When it washes over me it's hard to see that it always subsides, but we have to remember that it does.

Usually something triggers it for me as well...mostly when I'm feeling "trapped"...too much to do with no way to get away from it all and it keeps piling for days and days...

One things that's helped me is to realize that I do do this and it does ebb...repeat the to myself in the moment. Then I need to remind myself that I can get away even if I have to work hard to achieve it, or it might be a day or two till I can.

I know how it is. I hope your waves recedes soon.

Yes Dreamrunner. I can have a really hard time with it but somehow I muddle through it and those thoughts and feelings totally disappear.
We can only try to accept that maybe this IS IT and this is the best it's going to be. We just have to try to make the most out of it, somehow. Put it into an art project/creative story and make it work for us. Or as KimmyDawn is doing-she's helping others who are going through the same pain and she can empathize with them and give support and help them even though she herself is having a hard time.
You'll be okay, Dreamrunner. You're new here but you'll see that this place can pull you out of a funk.

sometimes this is why i hate to be in silence...always need to have the television or radio on...and rarely drive without some music. ... and can't even go to sleep without some white noise (a fan or an air purifier) to keep it from being too quiet...........else the thinking starts.

I second that, all of it. Kimmydawn's right tho, we have to wait and trust it'll ebb, I guess..

Wow - I don't have any profound words of wisdom but just wanted to say that I completely understand. I thought I was reading about me!!

I think that I say "I'm tired" and "I've had enough" at least once a day. My life is fairly normal with lots of good things so it is really frustrating.

Crying isn't a sign of weakness. It's a sign of having tried too hard to be strong for too long.

Tight finances trigger depression for me. Tight finances mean that I'm not working, and work is the main source of my self-esteem. Maybe it shouldn't be, but it is.

I love that word -- [b]seeps[/i]. Yes, depression seeps into our lives and leaches out the happiness and joy. It is a terrible illness.
