Today is a very bad day and I am feeling overwhelmed and very down. I've been feeling so anxious today that I an hardly breath and I have this overwhelming feeling of hopelessness. I'm trying to get through the day but found I needed to have some contact with someone because I am home alone today and don't know what to do. Any support would be greatly appreciated. Help!

No I don't feel like I have anyone to call but I sure wish I did. I just want the anxiety to go away. I thought about calling my therapist, I've never done that before but today is really the worst and I'm tempted. But, alas I'm scared to because I don't know how he would respond. I could not take a plow off today. I'm feelilng really desparate right now. But it helps to write. Thanks.

i hope you feel better. i think sometimes it helps to remember that, no matter how bad you feel, it will NOT last forever.

Hello LittleMouse, I'm sorry you are feeling so rough, a lot of people understand how you are feeling here at Psych Central. Sometimes distractions can help the anxiety, try and find something to take your mind off it. Crosswords and puzzles can help. Remind yourself that you will not feel like this for ever, that you can get through this and you will feel better soon. Call your T if you need to, he/she is there to help. Take care. ![]()

I am so glad you are online that I just can't tell you. I'm trying real hard to see through today and look for a better day but I am struggleing to say the least. Your words mean a lot and helps me to feel like I am not alone.

I've been ironing most of the day off and on. It has helped with the anxiety some. Gives me something to do and keeps me from pacing aroung like some kind of nut case which is what I feel like right now. I have a special project that has to be completed by july 30 and I started working on it this morning and just all of a sudden could not do it and felt so overwhelmed and that feeling had stayed with me all day. The more anxious I feel the more depressed I feel and I'm feeling really down about myself right not. Thinking crazy thoughts and trying no to.

My husband comes home in about an hour and I've got to get myself together fast. I can't let him know that I am feeling so down and anxious today. I wish I could go to sleep and just sleep the pain off. But I can't right now. I hope I can sleep tonight becaue I'm about to crawl out of my skin. I've been feeling really depressed and anxious all week but today is the worst in a long time. Just tying to hang in there and make it through.

Hi littlemouse,
I have a project due by June 30th. I found that when I was trying to do it and couldn't connect with it, I started to freak a bit. So I just let it ago and worked on something else, when I went back a couple days later I was able to concentrate on it. Do something completely relaxing, bath, shower, and listen to a soothing tape - either meditation, nature, or very calming music. It might help! Tranquility

As the last resort, I suggest to go out and walk. No matter where, just walk slowly and mindless (as best as you can). Get back home when the day is over. This works with me, sometimes.
