I am really afraid of dying right now...I don't want to die...
back in 1973 I wanted to die badly...I didn't...I had help..
my life has had some very good times since then...
and some of the best times were with my patients...and coworkers

I am very angry this am...I don't like the way kids are being overmedicated...kids that are disturbed may be reacting to all the violence and abuse they are seeing...I do not like what is going on...

I think a lot about death...I will die pretty soon.... from natural causes because I am 86yo...unless something happens sooner...I struggle because I have never believed in any type of existence after dying...to me dead is dead...I started thinking about this at age 5....so what now...I want to have some more fun...and I want to help out here...I know some things that can really be hurting us right now...like the way we are eating and drinking...and the way we don't move around very much...I want to sit on my bottom and eat sugar...I am a binge eater of sugar...what help is there for me...

and I am starting to forget little things...

I am a recovering sugar addict....I have found some help...
I got a book at xmas that is helpful------------THE HACKING OF THE AMERICAN MIND
by Robert Lustig, md,msl...it deals a lot about addiction and depression...

sugar and alcohol and caffeine and valium----my favorite things
I haven't had any valium for 4 months...that is good for me

I hate the way the psychiatric system is so arrogant and greedy...
we who are sick want help but we want to be valued and loved...
—-I think there is a huge need for changes in the system. If psychiatrists have only 15 mins in a basic appointment, I think they should at least have a practitioner working w them to get more info from the patient.. You are in a unique position to do something. Blog, lobby the ama, write a book.
Thanks. And give yourself some me time.

Have any of you thought about how mental health is dealt with in schools and classrooms? This is my passion because there is very little support for MI children. They are being ignored. Any thoughts?

I’m not a “leader” on here. I haven’t mastered how ...... I can’t even say anything. Growl.

At least I try not to bite people when I reply to them

I’m as good as anyone at analysing interpersonal dynamics

After all those years of abuse it’s not surprising. I wish I could resign from life. It bites

I do think you are a positive leader on this forum. You often cheer others, send hugs to comfort , and I love the humanity you share. Oh and I love those cute, adorable Bear pics. ❤️

Congratulations on getting off diazepam. I'm struggling myself, it doesn't help, just keeps the anxiety from getting so extreme. Coffee is my go to, that certainly should stop for me, but I love it too. Alcohol too, I'm trying to stay away from it.

I have been taking Omega-3 supplements (fish oil) for close to ten years on the advice/direction of an internal medicine physician. In my personal case, my "n=1 study," I have to say I cannot discern any effects, positive or negative, this supplementation has had for my depression. It is possible, however, the supplements have had a general health benefit.

Per two softgels:
EPA 360 mg
DHA 240 mg
"Omega-3 Other" 120 mg

PS: My diet does include some salmon and other fish (weekly not daily), but I haven't calculated their contributions.
