Here is my replacement thought:

My boss is trying to help me.

Kudos to you for that , keytones. We should all develop a 'can do' attitude. If after giving it a good try we find we can't at least we tried.

I have been successful in teaching myself the piano (despite abusers cruelty - even putting me down abusively when I said I was learning the piano ) and I can continue to do this

There is plenty of time to get ready for my presentation. I’ve talked about these topics before, and it went well.

Not being inherently talented at something does NOT equal being a failure.

I can relax and enjoy myself at a party.

I’m not afraid to talk to executive management. They are interested in the matters I need to discuss.
